Peace, stability and social welfare development organization (PSSWDO) is a local nonpolitical, nongovernmental and non-profitable organization has been established on 14 November 2017. We are a grassroots civil society organization dedicated to protecting and promoting the rights of disenfranchised Afghan women and girls in Afghanistan and to support them for a healthy life.

Job Descriptions:

Psychiatrists (Medical doctor of Mental Health) provide therapeutic services for women, girls and youths with mental health disorders. Psychiatrist (Mental Health Doctor) examine the patients who refer to the clinic or already registered/recorded during assessment and identification phase and prescribe needed medicine, if required the patient may refer to psychosocial counselors. Based on standard MH protocol the MH patient require 8-12 months even longer time therapy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To keep good behave with the patient and have a powerful psychosocial counseling skill, to enable the client who comes and seeks help to regain a state of psychosocial wellbeing.
  • Provide therapeutic services for women, girls and youths with mental health disorders.  
  • To support the team for technical issues especially support psychosocial counselor.
  • Collaborate with the team to address the psychological needs of clients.
  • Maintain confidential client records and documentation.
  • Assist in organizing outreach activities focused on mental health education.
  • Provide reports on cases and interventions when required.
  • Work with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for clients.

Job Requirements:

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • MD with Certificate of mhGAP, 5 years working in BPHS.
  • Having knowledge of Mental, Neurological and substance use (MNS) according to WHO standards.
  • Having good communication skill and good psychosocial counseling skill.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams and clients.
  • Excellent communication, listening, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all cases.
  • Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto and English.
