Ghazanfar Bank, a full-fledged licensed commercial Bank, commenced its operations in March 2009. The Share Holders of the Bank belongs to one of the leading business groups of Afghanistan. As a leading business house Ghazanfar Group is involved in various key businesses sectors as a front runner such as import and distribution of Petroleum/Gas and other various important industrial sectors. Ghazanfar Bank started its operation in Kabul, Afghanistan, and is offering key financial services both under conventional and Islamic Banking. The Bank has since opened up its Branches at various key locations such as Mazar Sharif, Hairatan, Kunduz, Takhar, Pule- Khumri, Jalalabad, Herat & Kandahar besides opening another eight branches at Kabul in Sarai Shahzada, Shar-e-Naw, Karte Naw, Kote Sangi, Lase Maryam, Karte Char, Kabul International Airport Branch and Wazir Akbar Khan. In due course of time, the Bank intends to expand its Branch Network in Kabul as well as at other key locations of the Country.

As Underwriting manager, you are responsible to:

1. Develop in-depth knowledge of the assigned sector to bring initiative impact for enhancing analytical and high-quality research of Credit Portfolio.
2. The Underwriting manager function is a core B/S, P/L analysis role
3. The Underwriting manager is required to carry out an in-depth analysis of the Financial Statements of the Borrower and have Familiarity with analysis of Funds Flows and Cash Flows, Balance Sheet items assessment, Ratio Analysis, Credit rating score sheet, etc.
4. Underwriting manager required to read the financial briefing and Cogent, Actionable Comments and recommendations.
5. To ensure that the Bank remains always compliant with the regulations already issued or being issued from time to time by the Country’s regulators that includes the Central Bank (DAB) or any other Institution entrusted with such responsibilities by the Government of Afghanistan.
6. To Assist in Changes and recommendations about procedural/policy.
7. To Assist Credit Team in terms of evaluating clients’ credit data and financial statements in order to determine the Risk and advice for mitigation, and monitoring of pre and post disbursement conditions of the loans on periodic basis.
8. To assist Credit Team in terms of reviewing credit applications and performing credit checks.
9. To help Credit team to be able to handle multiple projects and submit applications on time.
10. To assist portfolio managers with analysis and due diligence on prospective fund investments and portfolio management and analysis as well as to analyze the portfolio risk, individual risk of each borrower and assist for risk mitigations.
11. To Assist in Evaluation and understanding risks associated with individual transactions, products, borrowers and counterparties.
12. To ensure in compliance with all internal and regulatory credit/other portfolio related policies. Check for any gaps in credit documentation and escalate to the relationship management team.

B) Credit Audit

13. To Assist Credit Department in Working as a Lead of Credit Audit and document high quality work papers for credit and operational audits.
14. To ensure that any irregularity pointed out by Internal Audit, external Audit and DAB is addressed immediately and prompt corrective action is taken to regularize the matter.
15. The Underwriting manager may be required to examine the proposed Security/Collateral Package, Nature of Insurance, Counterparty -documentation analysis, understanding of the function of International Credit Rating Agencies and the Ratings awarded, etc.

The Underwriting manager needs to check and confirm all below points at Pre-Disbursement Stage:

16. All the norms related to the granting of the particular loan have been complied with.
17. All relevant documentation has been completed.
18. All related fees and charges have been recovered.

The Underwriting manager need to verify that all requirements have been suitably complied at Post Disbursement Stage:

19. Ensure that proper filing of reports and papers to appropriate authorities is complete.
20. Ensure that a proper Loan File is prepared.
21. Ensure that internal DP statements are submitted.

Qualifications:

1. Strong academic background at least BBA, BSc (Accounting and Finance, Management Accounting and Economics) or equivalent to MBA or MSc in relevant areas
2. CIMA/ACCA/CFA professional qualification would be preferred.
