The MHPSS program provides essential mental health and psychosocial support to displaced and crisis-affected populations. The MHPSS Technical Supervisor is responsible to provide technical guidance, training and mentorship to MHPSS staff and local partners to ensure the delivery of high quality services, by implementing MHPSS program in accordance with relevant UNHCR & WADAN Standard Operating Procedures, guidelines and policies, with the aim of providing quality, timely and effective psychosocial responses to the needs of populations of concern.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and oversight for MHPSS programs, ensuring adherence to best practices and WADAN standards.
• Train and mentor MHPSS staff and local partners to enhance their skills and knowledge in delivering effective mental health and psychosocial support.
• Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess program effectiveness and impact.
• Collaborate with other sectors and stakeholders to integrate MHPSS into broader humanitarian responses.
• Ensure proper documentation and regular reporting of MHPSS activities and outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
• Conduct regular field visits to observe service delivery and provide constructive feedback to staff.
• Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, NGOs, and community organizations to foster collaboration and support for MHPSS initiatives.
• Represent the organization in relevant coordination meetings and forums related to mental health and psychosocial support.
• Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of data related to MHPSS activities and outcomes.
• Perform any other relevant task as and when assigned by Program Manager/Regional Manager.

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology is mandatory.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in providing MHPSS services, including counseling, case management, or community-based psychosocial support, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or technical oversight role.
• Strong understanding of MHPSS principles
• Excellent communication, counseling , training, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in challenging environments and handle emergency cases.
• Fluency in Dari and Pashto; English proficiency is an asset.
