Islamic Relief has been working in Afghanistan for more than 23 years, providing emergency relief and implementing life-changing development projects for some of the most vulnerable people in the country. Islamic Relief set up our first Afghanistan office in 1999. Since then, IRA continued providing assistances in emergency relief, food security, livelihood, education, health, nutrition, shelter, orphan sponsorship, Ramadan and Qurbani programmes.

Job Summary:

In this regard, we have launched a program under the HELP Project Youth Component, aimed at hiring and developing young graduates. This initiative equips them with the necessary skills to succeed in future positions across various departments, while enhancing their employability in the local job market.

The program focuses on building a talent pool that is well-rounded, strengthening both technical abilities and essential behavioral/life skills. Additionally, it provides young individuals with the chance to refine their skills, share their experiences, and contribute meaningfully in a professional context.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Assisting with Inventory Management:
  • Support the team in managing inventory levels, ensuring stock availability, and identifying potential shortages.
  • Help with organizing and maintaining inventory records, both physical and in databases.
  1. Data Analysis & Reporting:
  • Analyze data related to supply chain processes (e.g., procurement, logistics, transportation).
  • Assist with preparing reports to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in the supply chain.
  1. Procurement Support:
  • Assist the procurement team in sourcing and purchasing materials, equipment, and services.
  • Support in vendor management and maintaining relationships with suppliers.
  1. Logistics & Transportation:
  • Assist with coordinating shipments and deliveries, ensuring products are delivered on time and in good condition.
  • Help track shipments and resolve any delays or issues related to transportation.
  1. Process Improvement:
  • Collaborate with the team to analyze existing processes and suggest ways to improve efficiency.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and provide input on new methods for streamlining supply chain operations.
  1. Supply Chain Documentation:
  • Help create and maintain documentation related to supply chain activities.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with company policies and regulations.
  1. Collaborating Across Departments:
  • Work with other departments such as sales, marketing, and customer service to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
  • Communicate with internal teams to ensure that product availability aligns with customer demand.

 

Job Requirements:

Education:

Fresh Graduate -Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business administration, Economics, Public Relations or another relevant technical field.

Language Requirement:

  • Fluency in English and local languages

Computer Skills:

  • MS Office, Word, Outlook, ERP systems familiarity
