Job Descriptions:

 

1. Background

The project is designed to improve the safety, well-being, and development of women and adolescents’ girls in Badghis, and Farah provinces. It emphasizes access to protection services, community-based Gender and empowering vulnerable groups. As part of this initiative, WASSA collaborates with UNICEF to implement activities centered on gender equality, Livelihood, and community resilience.

The Provincial Supervisor will oversee the project’s implementation in Herat Province, ensuring effective coordination with stakeholders, adherence to project plans, and timely delivery of results.

2. Scope of Work

The Provincial Supervisor is responsible for the management, coordination, and monitoring of project activities in designated province. This includes ensuring alignment with project objectives, compliance with organizational policies, and effective collaboration with local stakeholders.

Job Requirements:

 

 Key Responsibilities

  1. Supervise and coordinate all project activities in designated province, ensuring alignment with work plans and objectives.
  2. Ensure effective delivery of services such as case management, PSS, and cash-for-protection.
  3. Facilitate training on child protection, gender, and inclusion for community members.
  4. Support the establishment of inclusive protection centers.
  5. Responsible for the overall management of the provincial office and representing the project.
  6. Undertake staff and financial management of the project at the provincial level.
  7. Develop a detailed provincial-level implementation work plan and ensure the timely completion of defined targets.
  8. Ensure that operation continues smoothly and that desired milestones are met per the work plans.
  9. Work closely with the regional project manager, program department, and stakeholders to achieve the project objectives.
  10. Develop, maintain, and strengthen contacts with Government Counterparts, NGOs, and UN agencies working in the region.
  11. Strengthen coordination between various organizations in the social cohesion field.
  12. Prepare daily, weekly, and other reports, as required.
  13. Oversee and supervise the work of the provincial support staff.
  14. Establish good linkages with the communities, local Shura (councils), and local authorities.
  15. Organizing coordination meetings with stakeholders in the respective province
  16. Assisting in the implementation of project activities in the province
  17. Organizing and conducting training for staff capacity building
  18. Ensuring procurement admin and finance activities are according to budget.
  19. Ensure adequate program documentation and progress by capturing lessons learned and good practices.
  20. Represent the organization in relevant meetings and national forums
  21. Adhere to the organization's code of conduct in professional and personal life and report breaches of the code to the appropriate persons
  22. Ensure the effective and efficient use of all organization resources in order to keep costs low and ensure safety in the workplace
  23. Lead manage and motivate a team ensuring that they have clear objectives and receive meaningful feedback on their performance.
  24. Perform any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time by the line
