Job Descriptions:

 

1. Background

The project is designed to improve the safety, well-being, and development of children and adolescents in Herat, Badghis, and Farah provinces. It emphasizes access to protection services, community-based child protection structures, and empowering vulnerable groups. As part of this initiative, WASSA collaborates with UNICEF to implement activities centered on child protection, gender equality, and community resilience.

The district Team Leader will oversee the project’s implementation in designated location, ensuring effective coordination with stakeholders, adherence to project plans, and timely delivery of results.

2. Scope of Work

The District Team Leader/Facilitator is responsible for the management, coordination, and monitoring of project activities in designated location. This includes ensuring alignment with project objectives, compliance with organizational policies, and effective collaboration with local stakeholders.

3. Key Responsibilities

Under the overall coordination of the Provincial coordinator, the district Team Leader will work on the following tasks to coordinate the implementation of the project:

  • Managing the day-to-day activities of the team.
  • Motivating the team to achieve organizational goals.
  • Developing and implementing a timeline to achieve targets.
  • Mobilize the village community to identify problems and possible interventions as well as facilitate their participation in project ownership
  • Coordinate (plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate) strategic communication programs for both key project messages and behavior change necessary as technical support to the community-based committee, to strengthen the overall performance of the project
  • Monitoring and evaluation of progress within the community
  • Promote a high level of collaboration, communication, and cooperation with governments and other stakeholders and actors in the community
  • Ensure effective delivery of services such as case management, PSS, and cash-for-protection.
  • Facilitate training on child protection, gender, and inclusion for community members.
  • Support the establishment of inclusive protection centers.
  • Assist to engage the community and local authorities on protection issues.
  • Supervise provision of Cash Assistance to the targeted community.
  • Be able to Conduct awareness training and conduct information campaigns on the field according to the community knowledge level.
  • Any other official-related tasks may assign to him.
  • He is responsible to Report regularly on project activities and update the progress of project implementation.
  • Focuses on impact and result for the beneficiaries.
  • Approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude
  • Builds strong relationships with beneficiaries and external actors
  • Demonstrates openness to change and ability to manage complexities
  • Any other relevant duties assigned by the provincial Supervisor.

 

4. Methodology

The facilitators will be supervised by the Provincial Supervisor. The ideal candidate will be a confident public speaker and a devoted educator who is up-to-date on the latest tools and resources needed to improve target audience training and performance.
