Job Descriptions:

Purpose of the Role:

The Data & Reporting Officer is responsible for establishing and maintaining a comprehensive data management and reporting system for the WASH project. This role ensures accurate, timely, and reliable data collection, analysis, and reporting to support project implementation, monitoring, and decision-making in alignment with UNICEF requirements and Afghanistan Development National Organization standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Management

  • Set up and maintain data management systems at both program and field levels.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data collection on project inputs, processes, outputs, outcomes, and impact indicators.
  • Liaise with UNICEF to ensure the use of updated data collection forms and templates.
  • Fill all UNICEF-related forms regularly and accurately.
  • Analyze data received from field staff and Data Analysts before entry into the system.
  • Control, manage, and record the flow of data under the WASH project.
  • Ensure proper storage, organization, and backup of all program data.
  • Maintain real-time databases that reflect project progress and performance.

Reporting

  • Collect, compile, and analyze field-level and provincial-level reports.
  • Prepare qualitative and quantitative weekly, monthly, and final reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely submission of reports to project field offices, donors, and Afghanistan Development National Organization management.
  • Document lessons learned, case studies, and good practices for sharing with stakeholders.
  • Prepare and circulate meeting minutes, notes, letters, and agendas.
  • Translate and analyze field data for reporting purposes.
  • Support the Project Manager and other staff with field visits and information gathering.
  • Produce high-quality reports, notes, and documentation as required

 Documentation & Coordination

  • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence and documents.
  • Maintain organized filing systems for documents, reports, photos, videos, and other media.
  • Coordinate daily receptionist duties and document management.
  • Establish good working relations and coordination mechanisms with staff, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Ensure effective documentation of program progress and impact.

Planning & Compliance

  • Maintain weekly and monthly individual action plans.
  • Participate in internal and external trainings and meetings as proposed by Afghanistan Development National Organization senior management.
  • Inform the line manager at least one week in advance before taking annual leave.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by Afghanistan Development National Development Organization senior management based on project needs.

1. ST/SGB/2003/13 United Nations Secretary-General’s Bulletin and Special measures for protection from sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA)

  • In the light of different reports and the statement of UN Secretary General regarding PSEA and in order to take prevention measures, Afghanistan Development National Organization strictly applies the PSEA guidance and policy to all of its staff, daily wagers, contractors, consultants, volunteers, vendors, beneficiary, etc. All Afghanistan Development National Organization associates are advised to avoid any kind of sexual exploitation (SEA) and abuse of any kind while working together with Afghanistan Development National Organization. Involvement in any form of SEA and violation of any set guideline in relation to SEA is prohibited.
  • Afghanistan Development National Organization shall track and get information on involvement in SEA or corruption about the candidates who apply to Afghanistan Development National Organization and Afghanistan Development National Organization adopts zero tolerance policy on SEA and corruptions.

Data sharing

  • As a humanitarian agency, Afghanistan Development National Organization strictly adheres to humanitarian Data Sharing Protocol (DSP) applied in Afghanistan. The sharing of data of any type of anyone associated to Afghanistan Development National Organization (Beneficiary detail, survey, assessment, reports, internal matters, confidential documents, etc. is prohibited and will require senior management approval to make sure the sharing is in line with Do NO HARM principles, DSP and Afghanistan Development National Organization data sharing policy

 Media participation

  • No Afghanistan Development National Organization staff can participate in any media talks, interviews, debates, information sharing in social media or in any other media. No staff can represent any Afghanistan Development National Organization activities at any media platforms without Afghanistan Development National Organization management permission

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in data management, public health, social sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in data management and reporting, preferably in WASH or humanitarian projects.
  • Experience working with UNICEF or other international donors is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication skills in Pashto, Dari, and English.
  • Strong organizational and coordination abilities
