Atlas Meraj Noor Electrification Service Company (AMN), established in 2019, is a professional design, engineering, and consulting firm specializing in high-voltage electrical substations, controls, protection systems, substation automation, and associated civil, structural, and mechanical works. AMN provides a wide range of services including pre-bid estimation, detailed engineering, and project consultancy. Its expertise covers:
Indoor/outdoor conventional and gas-insulated substations (11 kV to 500 kV).
Electrical Balance of Plant (B.O.P.) packages for thermal power plants fueled by coal, oil, or gas.
High-voltage transmission lines (above 500 kV overhead).
Rural electrification projects (30 kV, 20 kV, 15 kV, 11 kV).
Automation and control systems for steel, coal, minerals, mining, materials handling, construction, and industrial projects.
Renewable energy solutions, including solar-powered plants.
With a team of highly qualified engineers and consultants, AMN plays a vital role as a contractor’s consultant in numerous projects, ensuring cost efficiency, technical accuracy, and adherence to both national and international engineering standards. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of electrification engineering projects, from planning to execution and delivery. This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership, and coordination skills to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. The Project Manager will serve as the main point of contact between the company, contractors, and stakeholders such as Brishna (the national electricity utility).
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and manage detailed project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
Prepare and process invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
Represent the company in meetings with Brishna and other relevant stakeholders.
Supervise project implementation, including site inspections and progress monitoring.
Ensure compliance with technical specifications, engineering standards, and safety regulations.
Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
Monitor budgets, expenditures, and resource allocation to ensure cost-effectiveness.
Prepare regular progress reports and present updates to management and donors/clients.
Identify risks, propose mitigation measures, and ensure quality assurance throughout the project cycle.
Support procurement processes by reviewing technical documents, contracts, and materials.
Ensure environmental and social safeguards are integrated into project activities.
Lead project closing activities, including handover documentation and final acceptance.
Education
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power, Energy, or related field).
Master’s degree or Project Management certification (e.g., PMP/PRINCE2) is an advantage.
Work Experience
At least three (3) years of professional experience in power distribution or electrification projects.
Proven experience in managing medium to large-scale engineering projects, preferably in the energy or utility sector.
Technical Knowledge
Strong understanding of power distribution systems, substations, transformers, and grid connectivity.
Familiarity with national and international electrical codes, standards, and safety practices.
Proficiency in project scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and AutoCAD/engineering tools.
Project Management Skills
Demonstrated ability to plan, monitor, and deliver projects within scope, time, and budget.
Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and invoice preparation.
Experience in contract administration and stakeholder coordination.
Soft Skills
Excellent communication and negotiation skills in both English and local languages (Dari/Pashto).
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Ability to work effectively with government agencies (e.g., Brishna), donors, contractors, and communities.
High level of integrity, accountability, and commitment to quality and safety.
Other Requirements
Willingness to travel to project sites in different provinces.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Strong reporting and documentation skills.
