Conduct an Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) due to the implementation of the railway link and their mitigation measures and also submission of an Environment Management Plan (EMP) as per the ADB’s Safeguard Policy Statement (2009) and Government’s policies. The provision for implementing the recommendations of EIA has to be incorporated in the bid document."
. Conducting Environmental Assessments:
- Prepare an Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) and a comprehensive Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the railway link project.
. Mitigation Planning:
- Identify potential environmental and social impacts of the project and propose mitigation measures to address them.
Developing an Environmental Management Plan (EMP):
- Create an EMP in accordance with the ADB's Safeguard Policy Statement (2009) and relevant government policies.
. Ensuring Compliance:
- Ensure that environmental recommendations and mitigation measures are properly included in the bid documents and considered during the design and implementation phases.
Policy Alignment:
- Align all environmental and social work with ADB guidelines, national environmental regulations, and safeguard requirements.
Coordination & Reporting:
- Coordinate with engineering, design, and planning teams to integrate environmental safeguards and report findings and plans to stakeholders.
