Sky Aria is a registered minerals resource company that was established to conduct a professional mining and minerals business in Afghanistan. The company has invested in several mining projects in Afghanistan. Considering our team's expertise, worldwide existence, linkages, and knowledge of the national and international market demand and supply for various minerals, we believe that Sky Aria is a reliable and successful supplier of fluorite and other industrial minerals from Afghanistan.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Compliance & Filings
   • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns (Income Tax, Withholding Tax, Business Receipt Tax, Property/Rental Tax, etc.) in accordance with Afghan tax law.
   • Ensure timely payments of all taxes owed, including withholding taxes on salaries, contractors, suppliers, rentals, etc.
   • Ensure that taxes deducted at source are remitted to the government treasury within required deadlines.
   • Maintain liaison with relevant tax authorities (e.g., Ministry of Finance, Afghanistan Revenue Department) for compliance, audits, and any other regulatory requirements.
2. Tax Planning & Advisory
   • Monitor changes in tax legislation, regulations, and policy; assess impacts on the organization.
   • Provide advice and recommendations on tax‐efficient structuring of contracts, rentals, procurement, employee benefits etc., while ensuring full compliance.
   • Identify opportunities for tax savings under the law.
3. Record Keeping & Documentation
   • Maintain accurate tax records: tax vouchers, invoices, receipts, contracts, etc., ensuring supporting documentation is in order.
   • Organize and update the tax database (electronic/hard copy).
   • Reconcile tax GL (general ledger) accounts regularly.
   • Ensure documentation for audits or inspections is accessible and well organized.
4. Reporting & Analysis
   • Prepare management reports on tax liabilities, forecasting, tax exposures, and compliance status.
   • Assist in budget forecasting, cost estimation and financial reporting as related to taxation.
   • Analyse tax implications of organizational transactions (rentals, fixed assets, contracts, etc.).
5. Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
   • Coordinate with internal teams: Finance, HR, Procurement, Legal, Operations to ensure tax-related issues are identified and addressed.
   • Serve as liaison with external auditors, consultants, and government tax departments.
   • Provide support and training to other staff on tax procedures, withholding, obligations etc.
6. Systems & Tools
   • Use accounting / financial systems (e.g. QuickBooks, or organization’s ERP) to record tax transactions.
   • Ensure e-filing / online tax submission where applicable; maintain knowledge of relevant digital systems.
   • Stay up to date with required forms, tax payment channels, and electronic systems used by the revenue authorities.
7. Other Duties
   • Perform any other tasks as assigned by supervisor that relate to the core functions of the role.
   • Ensure work is carried out in accordance with organizational policies (financial, ethical, etc.).

Required Qualifications & Experience

Requirement                                                                                                                                                                         

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field. Certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or local equivalent are desirable.

Experience

Minimum 3-5 years working in taxation, finance or accounting, preferably in Afghanistan or similar jurisdictions. Experience with NGOs, donors, or private sector is a plus.

Knowledge / Skills

Strong knowledge of Afghan tax laws: Income Tax, Withholding, VAT (if applicable), Business Receipt Tax, Rental Tax, etc. Good understanding of accounting principles. Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word). Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks or similar).

Languages

Fluent in Dari and/or Pashto, good working knowledge of English (written and verbal).
