The Agency Coordinating Body for Afghan Relief and Development (ACBAR) is an independent forum established in 1988 to support NGOs working with Afghan refugees in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Since relocating its main office to Kabul in 2002, ACBAR has grown to include 211 national and international NGOs operating across all sectors of humanitarian assistance and development.

ACBAR provides:

• Coordination: Supporting NGO collaboration at national and regional levels.
• Information sharing: Delivering timely updates to members and the broader aid community.
• Advocacy: Addressing issues affecting NGOs’ work in Afghanistan.

ACBAR’s mission is to provide an efficient platform for NGOs to deliver effective humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding activities in Afghanistan.

ESSENTIAL TASKS

Essential tasks include the following:

• To purchase fresh foods and seasonings and maintain them fresh if not consumed
• To prepare lunch for staff. He may also be asked to prepare lunch for specific occasions, such as workshops and meetings
• To prepare Hot water every day in the morning
• To prepare the dining room and table before meals and clean after meals
• To wash dishes and glasses after meals
• To distribute hot water and drinking materials to each office. He may also be asked to distribute food to each office
• To provide drinks for guests
• To maintain the food items, kitchen space, refrigerator, and the appliances clean and hygienic
• To conserve the leftover foods

Cleaning Responsibilities:

• Clean all the office equipment, like furniture, waste paper baskets, and ashtrays, before the arrival of the staff.
• Wash the toilets and mop the floor, periodically of the floor, windows, and doors with antiseptic to remove stains daily before the arrival of office staff.
•  Spray the offices with Insecticide to kill insects when needed.
• Ensure that taps and flushes in toilets are working properly and arrange authorization for repairs of faults.
• Ensure that towels are clean in the toilets and make sure that soap and toilet paper are available each week.
• keep and watch over the office and premises and maintain custody of keys while performing normal duties. Turn on/off the heaters in the winter seasons.
• Reporting any damage, safety issues, or maintenance needs.
• Following health, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Follow the regulations, staff policies, and respect the organization's structure.
• Perform any other task as requested by Line Manager and/or Senior Management, including assisting colleagues in other departments.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and/or ATTRIBUTES

• Ability to follow instructions and to ask for help when necessary
• Courteous and polite when representing ACBAR

EDUCATION, TRAINING and/or EXPERIENCE

• • 2 years of experience in a Similar Position/Field
  • Minimum 12 Grade

LANGUAGE SKILLS, MATHEMATICAL SKILLS AND REASONING ABILITY

• Ability to speak Dari and Pashto, some English preferred
