Job Descriptions:

Background:

BDN is implementing the School-based Weekly Iron Folic Acid Supplementation (S-WIFS) Program to reduce anemia among adolescent girls aged 10–13 years in grades 4, 5, and 6 across 7 provinces. The program includes weekly IFA distribution, teacher training, school-based nutrition education, and community awareness activities.

Master Trainers are critical for ensuring high-quality program implementation through training schoolteachers, supervising, and monitoring the program at the provincial and school levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide two-day initial training for S-WIFS focal teachers in each province, covering IFA distribution, monitoring, and nutrition education.
  • Ensure teachers understand technical guidelines, reporting requirements, and protocols for safe and effective weekly IFA distribution.
  • Support the implementation of S-WIFS in schools, including coordinating with teachers, school management, and local communities.
  • Facilitate community awareness sessions in schools involving parents, elders, and school staff to improve understanding of anemia prevention and healthy dietary practices.
  • Ensure all program tools and supplies (IFA tablets, IEC materials, reporting forms, drinking cups, storage boxes) are correctly distributed and used in schools.
  • Conduct regular monitoring visits to schools to ensure proper implementation of S-WIFS activities.
  • Use standard monitoring checklists to track IFA distribution, student adherence, and teacher performance.
  • Support the collection, compilation, and submission of school-level reports to the Provincial Project Manager.
  • Identify operational challenges and provide technical support or corrective actions to teachers and school teams.
  • Ensure full adherence to BDN Child Safeguarding, PSEA/SH, and AAP policies.
  • Orient schoolteachers and staff on safe and accessible reporting mechanisms for children and community members.
  • Report any child safeguarding, SEA, or other protection concerns immediately to the Project Manager or BDN Main office.
  • Liaise with Provincial education directorate and health authorities, UNICEF health and nutrition extenders, PPHD, and other partners to ensure smooth program implementation.
  • Support the mapping of schools and selection of S-WIFS focal teachers in coordination with provincial authorities.

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Education, or related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in school-based health or nutrition programs.
