Organization for Promotion of Health & Community Development (OPHCD) is a nongovernmental, non-political and independent organization. OPHCD has been established in 2017 and registered with the NGOs Department of the Ministry of Economy of the with license # 4160 as well as registered with the Ministry of Public Health of the Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan with the registration #1316. In addition, the organization has membership of Afghanistan National Health cluster, Afghanistan National Nutrition Cluster and ACBAR. OPHCD, as a non-governmental organization striving for well-being of the people through promotion of health, education, WASH, protection and human right, economic stability and sustainable development of the communities with focus on the women and children, drugs users, IDPs and other marginalized group of the society with an equitable manner.

Job Descriptions:

Main duties and responsibilities:

The Social Mobilizer will work under the direct supervision of the Project Manager. he/She will locate in the district and will work with the targeted communities within the project area. More over She/he is responsible to generate Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, Annual, and project reports on capacity building activities

A -Community Engagement:

    • Conduct community meetings, focus group discussions, and participatory activities to promote SBC initiatives.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with community leaders, stakeholders, and members to foster trust and collaboration.
    • Conduct orientation or training sessions for actors on key SBC and AAP packages.
    • Conducting and facilitating follow up meetings with community influential people and networks within the communities.
    • Conduct and facilitate community engagement sessions with households and communities on life-saving behaviors as well as healthy and protective behaviors related to health, nutrition, WASH, education, and child protection.
    • Tracking and collecting and sharing the rumors from the community.
    • Provide information about the availability and utilization of services to communities.
    • Inform communities about the available mechanisms and channels to provide feedback on available services.
    • Engage community structures/ key influencers and communities in collecting/responding to community feedback.

B. Program Implementation:

    • Implement SBC strategies and activities as per the project plan.
    • Distribute educational materials and facilitate community-based training sessions.
    • Monitor and report on the progress of SBC activities.
    • Conduct orientation or training sessions for actors on key SBC and AAP packages.

C. Advocacy:

  • Advocate for positive social and behavioral changes within the community.
  • Address barriers to behavior change through targeted interventions.
  • Raising awareness and mobilizing and engaging community structures and communities in communication activities during diseases outbreak, and health emergencies national/international Campaigns.

C . Community Feedback Centers (CFC) Management:

A. Feedback Collection:

  • Establish and maintain Community Feedback Centers in strategic locations.
  • Collect feedback and complaints from community members through various channels.
  • Provide information about availability and utilization of services to communities
  • Inform communities about the available mechanisms and channels to provide feedback on available services
  • Engage community structures/ key influencers and communities in collecting/responding to community feedback.
  1. Data Management:
    • Enter feedback and complaints into the MIS accurately and timely.
    • Ensure all data is handled confidentially and in accordance with organizational policies.

C.Response and Resolution:

    • Analyze feedback and categorize issues for action.
    • Coordinate with relevant departments to address and resolve complaints.
    • Communicate resolutions back to the community members in a timely manner.

d. Reporting and Monitoring:

  • Prepare regular reports on the feedback and complaints received and their resolution status.
  • Identify trends and provide insights to inform program improvements.
  • Monitor and supervise the SBC interventions and ensure the implementation of the activities base on the plan SBC
  • Collect daily basis community feedback and provide response for feedback received.
  • Record details of the feedback in collection form
  • Provide essential information on available services to community
  • Refer feedback to relevant sectors
  • Ensure local coordination and collaboration with key actor(s) such as the de-facto authority, CSOs and others.
  • Prepare activity report according to the established format and submit it to his/her supervisor.
  • Identify the best success stories of SBC interventions, collect testimonies from beneficiaries and submit them to the supervisor for further documentation.
  • Monitor and supervise the SBC interventions and ensure the implementation of the activities base on the plan SBC
  • Follow up on the distribution of relevant supplies to households.

Job Requirements:

D. Qualifications:

  1. Education
  2. Bachelor's Degree in Social Science, Public Health, & Education.
  3. Resident Jawzjan province is preferred;
  4. Phenomenal communication presentation and public speaking skills;
  5. Fluency in written and spoken local language
  6. Minimum of Around two years of demonstrable relevant Social Science experience (essential).
  7. Experience
  • Three years working experience with health sector, Community-based education or any other community-based program.
  • One-year experience as community-based program supervisor or trainer is preferable.
  • Strong interpersonal, communications and leadership skills;
  • Having community-level work experience and skills.
  • Fluent Dari, Pashto, and Local Language with excellent speaking and writing skills;
  • Proficient computing skills including word processing, spreadsheet design and PPT presentation.

Other skills required:

  • Efficiency, result-oriented and community level working capabilities;
  • Capacity to perform effectively under pressure and harsh conditions; ability to handle confidential and politically sensitive issues in a responsible and mature manner;
  • Excellent capacity development and teamwork skills; cross-cultural and gender sensitivity;
  • Ability to use information technology effectively.
