Bakhter Development Network (BDN) was established and registered in 2001 with the Ministry of Economics in Afghanistan as an Afghan, non-political, non-profit, and non-governmental organization. BDN operates in line with its constitution in three sectors: education, health, and agriculture and livestock. Currently, BDN is involved in implementing different health projects across multiple provinces of Afghanistan, such as BPHS-EPHS projects in Balkh, Maidan Wardak, and Kapisa provinces, as well as other vertical projects like CBNI, TSFP, PHNS, FSAC, PHC-WHO, GC7, and RMNCAH/SRH and PSS services in provinces such as Balkh, Badakhshan, Faryab, Sar-e-Pol, Jawzjan, Samangan, Takhar, Kapisa, and Maidan Wardak.

Job Descriptions:

The Agraiulatre Trainer will be responsible for delivering practical and technical training sessions to beneficiary households receiving vegetable kits. The trainer will build the capacity of participants in improved home gardening practices to enhance household food security, dietary diversity, and income generation.

  • Develop training materials, modules, and demonstration plans tailored to local climatic and soil conditions
  • Conduct training sessions on vegetable cultivation, nursery preparation, composting, irrigation management, pest and disease control, and post-harvest handling
  • Support beneficiaries in establishing and maintaining home gardens using distributed vegetable kits
  • Conduct follow-up visits to assess adoption of skills, identify challenges, and provide technical guidance
  • Coordinate closely with the Project Manager and Field Team to plan and schedule training activities
  • Liaise with the provincial Department of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (DAIL) for technical alignment
  • Maintain attendance records, training reports, and beneficiary feedback from all sessions

Job Requirements:

•    Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture. 
•    At least 3 years of experience in related filed. 
•    Good Communication skills
•    Fluent in local lanaguage, with a working knowledge of English
•    Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
•    Ability to create a supportive working relationship with all project teams
•    Ability to work under pressure
•    Ability to work on Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
