Job Descriptions:

General Summary: We are currently seeking a dedicated and organized Logistic Officer to join our team for the Nashta+ and HEB School Feeding Project. As a Logistic Officer, he/she will be responsible for overseeing and managing the logistical operations of the project, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of food supplies to schools. His/her expertise in logistics, inventory management, and transportation will play a vital role in the success of the project

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supply Chain Management: Manage the end-to-end supply chain for the school feeding project. Coordinate with suppliers, track inventory levels, and ensure an uninterrupted flow of food supplies to schools and on time Reporting
  • Inventory Management: Implement effective inventory management systems to monitor stock levels, track consumption rates, and forecast future needs. Maintain accurate records of inventory and conduct regular stock audits to prevent stock outs and minimize wastage in the targeted districts of the Nangarhar province.
  • Transportation and Distribution: Coordinate transportation logistics, including scheduling and routing from WFP warehouse’s to ensure timely delivery of food supplies to schools. Collaborate with external transport providers and internal stakeholders to optimize delivery routes and minimize costs.
  • Quality Control: Implement quality control measures to ensure that all food supplies meet the required standards of safety and freshness. Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to maintain the highest quality of food products.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all logistical activities, including inventory movement, transportation schedules, and delivery documentation. Prepare reports on logistics performance, including key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and school staff to ensure smooth coordination of logistical operations. Communicate effectively to address any issues or concerns related to logistics and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.

Job Requirements:

  1. University degree in Accounting, Finance, Administration or communication desirable.
  2. Proficient user of MS Office Packages (Excel, Word, Outlook) essential
  3. Dari/Pashtu oral and written essential.
  4. NGOs experience must, English oral and written essential.
  5. Proven experience as a Logistic Officer or in a similar logistics role, preferably in the food industry or a related field.
  6. Strong knowledge of logistics principles, practices, and regulations.
  7. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills to manage complex logistical operations.
  8. Proficiency in using logistics software and tools.
  9. Familiarity with inventory management systems and techniques.
  10. Attention to detail and the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  11. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  12. Relevant certifications in logistics or supply chain management are desirable
