Job Descriptions:

General Summary: We are currently seeking a reliable and organized Storekeeper to join our team for the Nashta+ and HEB School Feeding Project. As the Storekeeper, you will be responsible for managing inventory, receiving and issuing goods, and ensuring the smooth operation of the project's storage facilities. Your attention to detail and strong organizational skills will contribute to the efficient implementation of the school feeding program

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing goods, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to inventory management procedures. Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies to ensure stock accuracy.
  • Receiving and Issuing: Receive deliveries of food items, supplies, and equipment, and verify their quality and quantity. Ensure proper storage and appropriate stock rotation. Prepare and issue goods to project sites according to established requisition processes.
  • Quality Control: Inspect incoming goods for quality, expiration dates, and damages. Identify and report any issues to the appropriate authorities. Ensure compliance with food safety and storage standards.
  • Storage and Organization: Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the storage facilities. Arrange goods in a systematic manner to facilitate easy access and minimize the risk of damage or spoilage. Implement appropriate storage techniques to maximize space utilization.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of stock levels, transactions, and inventory reports. Prepare regular reports on stock status, consumption rates, and any discrepancies identified. Provide timely updates to project management and procurement officer.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with project team members, including the procurement officer, program staff, and vendors, to ensure effective coordination of goods and supplies. Communicate any stock shortages or issues that may affect program implementation.
  • Compliance: Adhere to project guidelines, procurement policies, and relevant regulations. Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety standards in the storage facilities.

Job Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent qualification. Additional training or certification in inventory management or related fields is desirable.
  2. Proven experience as a storekeeper or in a similar role, preferably in a food-related or project-based environment.
  3. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  4. Basic mathematical skills for inventory calculations and stock reconciliation.
  5. Knowledge of inventory management systems and software is a plus.
  6. Familiarity with food safety and storage standards.
  7. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
  8. Good communication skills to interact with vendors, project staff, and other stakeholders.
  9. Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy items when required.
  10. Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
