Job Descriptions:

This role involves managing, Monitoring & evaluation, Reporting the Project activities and provide support in coordination with the stakeholders, ensuring timely and effective delivery of project outputs, and monitoring project progress on timely bases.  The Project Manager will oversee the implementation of the Basic Reproductive Health Access Initiative & Midwife Interns through the project life cycle per the pre-defined SOP road map of the project.  The Project Manager will play a crucial role in addressing the healthcare environmental challenges of the interns in the targeted areas by improving the work quality of midwife-interns to midwifery services and enhancing reproductive health outcomes for women.

The primary purpose of the Project Manager is to ensure the successful execution of the Midwives Internship and Basic Reproductive Health Access Initiative. This role is critical in managing the recruitment and mentorship  of midwives-interns, overseeing service delivery, and ensuring that project goals are met efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Coordination:

  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines and milestones.
  • Coordinate with the Director, Deputy Director, and other key staff to ensure the alignment of the activities with organizational goals and objectives and the project’s predefined SoP.
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with the engaged  stakeholders and mentor the midwife interns per the project’s activities.
  • Oversee the recruitment process of the midwife-interns, ensuring adherence to selection criteria.
  • Provide guidance and support to the Midwifery Activity Officer in mentoring and developing midwife-interns capacity throughout the project life cycle.

Project Implementation:

  • Ensure the effective implementation of the project activities on the ground and provide technical assistance to midwife-interns in complicated cases in terms of service delivery and reporting.  
  • Maintain and track the accurate implementation of activities on the ground on daily, weekly and monthly basis and report any misconduct committed by the midwife-interns on the ground to the office. Further work with the subordinates on obtaining pure and accurate data from the field in terms of the indicator’s achievement.  
  • Oversee the distribution of kits to vulnerable women and children according to established SOPs during the project period.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Track and document project progress, maintaining accurate records and data.
  • Prepare regular reports on project activities, challenges, and achievements.
  • Conduct evaluations to assess project impact and identify areas for improvement.

Budget and Resource Management:

  • Coordinate with the Finance Officer to track expenditures and ensure financial accountability.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to project implementation.
  • Coordinate with hr-psea officer in hr related issues of the project.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in midwifery or Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Public Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in project management with a focus on maternal and child health is plus point.
  • Proven experience in managing projects in challenging environments, preferably in Kandahar’s contexts.
  • Demonstrated experience in training, mentoring, and supervising project activities.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in data collection, monitoring, and reporting.
