About Bakhter Development Network - BDN:

Bakhter Development Network (BDN) was established and officially registered in Afghanistan in 2001 as an Afghan non-governmental, non-profit, non-political, and developmental organization. BDN operates in accordance with its constitution in three main thematic areas: health, education, and agriculture and livestock. With its current focus on public health and nutrition, BDN helps communities achieve their developmental goals, while its wider vision is a world of enabled communities working towards a brighter future.

Currently, BDN is engaged in multiple initiatives, including the Health Emergency Response Additional Financing (HER AF) project in Balkh, Maidan Wardak, and Kapisa Provinces. BDN is also implementing projects such as the Targeted Supplementary Feeding Program (TSFP), the Community-Based Nutrition Intervention (CBNI) in Balkh, Badakhshan, and Kunduz Provinces, as well as the GC 7 project in Balkh and Maidan Wardak Provinces.

Job Descriptions:

  • Ensure the provision of quality services in the ward as per EPHS requirements.
  • Monitor staff performance in the ward.
  • Provide technical assistance to the ward staff as needed.
  • Ensure that patient rounds and night duties are developed and applied.
  • Participate in the scheduled supervision of the wards together with the hospital director and the head of the department.
  • Monitor the rational use of drugs, medical, and non-medical supplies.
  • Oversee the collection and maintenance of all medical ward records.
  • Provide on-the-job training and conferences for related staff based on the supervision findings.
  • Support and advise heads of sections on management and technical issues.
  • Attend all required technical and coordination meetings.
  • Coordinate all activities with the hospital director and the chief of the department.
  • Cooperate and coordinate with other departments/programs to ensure integrated, effective programs and smooth working relations.
  • Submit timely and accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Medical degree from a recognized university with all documents available and attested.
  • At least 4 years of clinical experience in a related unit.
  • Demonstrated understanding of hospital management issues and the ability to lead and train others in hospital management responsibilities.
  • Good interpersonal manner and the ability to build rapport with hospital directors and managers for the purpose of performance improvement.
  • Specialized degrees (musts) or diplomas required from inside or outside the country.
  • Computer literacy skills in standard office programs (MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Very good English language speaking and writing skills.
  • Team player and capacity builder.
  • Flexible, with a positive attitude and able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Understanding and adherence to the principles of Kabul Asia Hospital.
