Job summary:

The Deputy General Manager-Database will basically work as senior Oracle Database Administrator and will be responsible for the overall installation, configuration, troubleshooting, support and maintenance of Oracle Databases for primary site and disaster recovery site. The administrator will spend their time performing day-to-day management of Oracle databases environments, including backup and recovery, database optimization, Data guard, RAC, User management, and performance tuning. The Database Deputy Manger will be reporting to General Manager - DB/App and CIO/DCIO.

Job Description:

• Responsible for the overall Oracle databases installation, administration and support in Unix and Windows environment and work as backup of SQL DBA after in-house knowledge sharing and training in SQL Database Administration.
•  Troubleshoot and resolve database integrity Database Issues like , performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, DG issues, RAC Issues, connectivity issues, security issues. Responsible for Performing Performance Tuning, Query Optimization.
•  Performing upgrades of the Oracle database to new release levels/ Patch sets.
•  Oracle Database Health Checks, alerts logs, OCR logs, Security Checks and other daily routine DBA checks.
•  Implementing Cluster Environment- Creating, Maintaining and troubleshooting RAC environment.
•  Implementing, maintaining and troubleshooting Data Guard Setup on RAC with 2 nodes on both Primary and Standby sites.
•  Managing Users and database Security (Create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges).
•  Configuring and Maintaining RMAN environment (Backup and Recovery).
•  Performing RMAN Restoration as per requirement i.e. Control file, SP file restoration/ Data file restoration/ table space restoration/ Block level Corruption restoration/ Archive Redo logs restoration/ Performing Incomplete Recovery/ Recovering to a restore point/ Handling Online Redo log failures/ Full restoration.
•  House Keeping of Database/Application Trace Files (Backup and Removing Trace files).
•  Logical Backups with Export Dump and import dump i.e. Full export or import of schemas or their particular objects.
•  Controlling and monitoring unauthorized user access to the database through IP‘s.

• Daily, Weekly, Monthly, six monthly and Yearly health checks and housekeeping of Oracle database instances.
•  Knowledge sharing and training of fellow team members.
•  Participate in the Disaster Recovery tests.
•  Knowledge sharing and training of fellow team members.
•  Responsible for interacting with Vendor for Technical Support (in need).
•  Taking daily reports from junior DBA regarding databases health administered by them.
•  Any other task assigned by direct supervisor, CIO or DCIO.
•  Implement and timely review Database related policies and suggest changes to his general manager according to current technological challenges and threats.
• Ensuring 100% uptime and work as a team and on call availability 24/7.

EDUCATION

Bachelor in Computer Application/Computer Science/ Information Technology or Management Information Systems. OCP/OCM certification is required for this position..

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Oracle Database 11g or higher with RAC and Data guard configuration. SQL server administration experience is optional skills.

SKILLS

Troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with frontline and senior staff, documentation skills
