World Vision International (WVI) began emergency relief operations in Afghanistan in 2001 by addressing the urgent needs of children and families affected by natural disasters and decades of conflict. Over a decade later, World Vision Afghanistan’s (WVA) programs have expanded to development sectors such as health, nutrition, WASH, child protection, and education, empowering women to engage in civil and social change through interfaith partnership.

WVA targets the most vulnerable in its interventions; including children, women, Internally Displace Persons (IDPs), and returnee refugees, as well as the most impoverished and marginalized families. These priorities have been chosen to contribute to our Goal: “Improved survival and well-being of Afghan girls and boys, building the foundations for a better future for Afghan children and their communities.” 

Our work is well established in Herat, Badghis, Ghor, and Faryab provinces in the western region of Afghanistan. We work closely with all levels of society including children, parents, teachers, village councils, religious leaders, ministries, provincial departments, and other national and international agencies.

The main purpose of this role is to enter beneficiaries’ data into the WFP scope platform and conduct biometric activity for beneficiaries.  

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To participate in data collection methodology and SCOPE training
• Enter the data into the database
• Register beneficiaries in the WFP scope platform
• Register beneficiaries in WFP biometric tools
• Ensure that all required data is collected promptly.
• Ensure that all required data are properly recorded and hard copies are properly kept and 
• Submitted to supervisor promptly
• Perform any other duties delegated by the supervisor

Knowledge and experience:

• Bachelor degree is required
• Familiar with MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with Scope Registration.
• This position requires a mature candidate, a self-starter, with dedication and the ability to work with less or no supervision.
• Must demonstrate willingness to learn and work with others as a team.
• Ability to perform field assignments and willingness to travel to all districts of Ghor including hard-to-reach areas.
• Should be willing to live and work in very difficult and high security-risk areas.

• Having English language skills and Computer literacy are added advantages.

• Honesty and integrity in performing the tasks
• Flexible, adaptable, and proactive
• Must be ready to work in high-pressure
• Able to do other duties required by the supervisor
