Acted Afghanistan:

Acted is working in 20 provinces in Afghanistan around the country. These provinces are affected by natural and man-made disasters. Acted provides relief and emergency assistance to vulnerable populations affected by displacements, conflicts, or natural disasters, in the fields of agriculture, shelter, wash, and food security.

Job Descriptions:

Job purpose:

The Programme Officer – Business and Marketing is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and assessing information on ongoing business-related activities from field teams across multiple provinces. The role will contribute to the development of a profit-based impact mapping system, while also supporting the planning, coordination, and implementation of business development and marketing activities across various projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Collection, Analysis, and Impact Mapping:

  • Collect data from field teams on ongoing business and marketing activities across multiple provinces.
  • Analyze and assess data to track the performance of VT students, MSMEs, CBDS, artisans and other actors, focusing on profitability, market access, and business development outcomes.
  • Develop and contribute to a profit-based impact mapping framework.
  • Keep an updated mapping of private sector actors across the provinces of interventions.
  • Create and manage a centralized database of business-related activities across all provinces, tracking the performance of MSMEs and other beneficiaries.

Planning and Implementation of Business and Marketing Activities:

  • Support the planning, and imlementation of business development and marketing interventions in selected provinces.
  • Assist in identifying market opportunities, developing business plans, and implementing marketing plans for MSMEs, CBDS, artisans, VT students.
  • Support the capacity building of MSMEs, CBDS, artisans and VT students by developing a comprehensive business and development training.

Coordination:

  • Act as the business and marketing focal point for liaising between provincial project teams to ensure the smooth collection and analysis of data on business-related activities.
  • Foster collaboration and information-sharing among field teams, ensuring consistency in data collection and reporting.
  • Establish and maintain relations with businesses and private sector actors across Afghanistan.

Monitoring, Reporting and capitalization:

  • Monitor the progress of business and marketing interventions, ensuring that activities are aligned with project goals and contractual obligations.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports that highlight key insights from field data collection, business performance, and the results of impact mapping activities.
  • Contribute to the development of case studies, impact stories, and field visit reports to demonstrate the results of business development activities.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in business, marketing, or project management.
  • Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of MSME development, market linkages, and profit-based impact assessment.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and data management tools.
  • Excellent knowledge of English Dari and Pashtu
