The Norwegian Afghanistan Committee (NAC) is a member-based solidarity organization that has been working in support and solidarity with the Afghan people for more than 35 years. The Norwegian Afghanistan Committee (NAC) has a zero tolerance of sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (SEAH) both within the organization and of beneficiaries. Prevention of and protection from sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (PSEAH) is the individual and collective responsibility of all NAC officers, management, staff, consultants, and volunteers, who are all required to familiarize themselves with, agree to, and act in accordance with NAC’s Ethical Guidelines and Commitment, NAC Child Protection Policy, and NAC PSEAH Policy, at all times – both during and outside working hours – and participate actively in introductory and refresher trainings. Any breaches of PSEAH clauses in NAC’s policies, guidelines, and/or commitments will lead to immediate termination and possible legal actions.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Duties will include but are not limited to
Overall responsibility for the management of the logistics functions and for establishing and maintaining appropriate controls for the NAC operations in compliance with NAC Policies.
Actively support the Regional Head of Support Services and senior management in developing locally tailored Procurement & Supply SOPs in line with the NAC Policies.
Manage and develop staff working in logistics, including logistics staff in field offices.
Ensure performance reviews are conducted for all logistics staff in a timely manner.
Ensure accurate files and records are maintained to support the requirements of country management, head office and donors.
Maintained a professional bonding with finance to avoid any duplications in the documents making sure documents are aligned with the policies and standards of NAC.
Maintain systems for the movement of supplies between locations in Afghanistan with appropriate documentation.
Ensure the fleet is maintained in excellent working order.
Maintain the repairs and maintenance system to ensure efficient servicing and maintenance of all vehicles in accordance with NAC policies.
Oversee the planning and delivery of all program transport needs of the program.
Request and preposition spare parts are stocked at an appropriate level according to needs and availability.
Ensure that an organized filing system is in place, which should include records of work done and vehicle performance records.
Technically supervised and train drivers as required to improve their overall technical knowledge and skills.
Coordinates logistics support for new and ongoing operations.
Develops, prepares, coordinates and monitors overall logistic support plans including logistics forecasting, supply schedules, priorities or requirements, and resolution of urgent operational needs.
Assists in development of policy and procedures for field logistics support.
Ensures that logistics requirements take account of gender-specific needs.
Advises senior management on logistics management, structures and staffing levels to ensure that they are always adequate to meet the requirements of the organization.
Any other task assigned by the line supervisor.
Language requirements, if any
Oral and verbal fluency in Pashto, Dari, and English language is advantage.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in BBA, Economics or any other related fields
Work Experience
5 years of related experience in logistics/procurement preferably in INGOs.
Skills
Able to use MS Office professionally
Good communication skills
Planning and reporting skill
