The Norwegian Afghanistan Committee (NAC) is a member-based solidarity organization that has been working in support and solidarity with the Afghan people for more than 35 years. The Norwegian Afghanistan Committee (NAC) has a zero tolerance of sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (SEAH) both within the organization and of beneficiaries. Prevention of and protection from sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (PSEAH) is the individual and collective responsibility of all NAC officers, management, staff, consultants, and volunteers, who are all required to familiarize themselves with, agree to, and act in accordance with NAC’s Ethical Guidelines and Commitment, NAC Child Protection Policy, and NAC PSEAH Policy, at all times – both during and outside working hours – and participate actively in introductory and refresher trainings. Major Duties and Responsibilities
To treat those disabled and none disabled people in the area who need physiotherapy either at home or in the clinic.
To manage the Physiotherapy care of the patient, including patient assessment treatment planning and implementation for those conditions and disabilities prevalent in area
To assess the disabled people identified by CBR-workers in the community who may need physiotherapy
To express good empathy, safety and competence in the handling of disabled and none disabled physiotherapy related patient
To follow up the disabled people who have been referred to other rehabilitation sources
Local technical aids should be advised to the CBR-workers and community volunteers and Family trainers.
To write prescriptive reports regarding his/her activities on a regular basis and submits to Physiotherapy supervisor,
A 50% Home visit should be conducted regularly in accordance with the planned timetable, which should be made in consultation and coordination with CBR-workers and community volunteers.
To keep the clinic and it is instrument clean and tidy and store all equipment in a safe way.
To provide necessary awareness in relation to disabilities and prevention of disability for the PwDs, their family and the community.
Conduct joint OPD with Orthopedics staff as required,
Language requirements, if any
Fluency in Dari or Pashto, both written and spoken, English preference.
Qualifications Required
Recognized 3 years Diploma in Physiotherapy, bachelor in physiotherapy will be preferred.
Work Experience
1-2 years of relevant experience, particularly with international NGOs, in the medical or health sectors, or similar organizations, with clinical experience in physical therapy.
Skills
Computer skill at operator level, especially with MS Office packages.
Interpersonal and communication skills.
Team worker, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
Experience of planning and reporting.
Ability and willingness to travel to the project sites within Afghanistan and adjust to NAC environment.
Honest, proactive and well mannered.
To be Afghan National, local candidate will be preferred.
