Job Descriptions:

The Regional CP and GBV Manager will be deployed to Federal Ministries of Justice, Health, Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and at UNICEF Zonal office level, and their responsibility is to provide overall support and supervision for Child Protection and GBV policy development, implementation, and deployment of lower-level social workers.

Social work supervision is a process by which an organization provides support and guidance to social workers. Supervision must enable and support social workers to build effective professional relationships, develop good practice, and exercise both professional judgement and description in decision-making. For supervision to be effective, it needs to combine a performance management approach with a dynamic, empowering and enabling supervisory relationship. Supervision should improve the quality of practice, support the development of integrated working, and ensure continuing professional development.

 The purpose of supervision is:

- To ensure the worker is clear about roles and responsibility

- To ensure the worker to meet their professional objectives

- To ensure quality of services to clients

- To encourage professional development, and provide personal support

- To identify and manage stress

- To ensure the resources the worker has available to do their job and discuss issues arising where they are in adequate

Role objectives

Specific Responsibilities for Extenders:

Under the guidance of UNICEF Child Protection Specialists and Zonal CPOs, and in coordination with CP different entities, the Regional CP and GBV Manager will be responsible for the following:

• Provide strategic guidance and oversight to child protection and GBV social workers at the provincial and district level; 

• Working closely with all relevant provincial departments and regional universities, ensure capacity building of the social workforce at all levels and to ensure the smooth implementation of the CP programme;

• Ensure that the referral pathway is established, and children are receiving the appropriate services through a coordinated approach; 

• Ensure coordination is strengthened at provincial and district levels and support the integration of services;

• Ensure children are safeguarded through care processes and minimum standards of care are applied;

• Ensure CP and GBV resources are deployed according to need and well-defined priorities.

• Ensure that district and village CPANs have regular interaction with provincial CPAN;

• Ensure monitoring, evaluation, and accountability tools are utilized;

• Any other relevant duty assigned to him/her by the supervisor

Job Requirements:

Education and experience: 

Diploma of Psychology should be the first priority. Social science and law can be desirable.
Language Requirements:

Ability to read, write and speak local languages and English well.

Duty station for the Regional Manager is Jalalabad with frequent travel to all regional 52 districts.
