Job Purpose:
The Field Supervisor coordinates and reports MCHCs activities, ensures regular collaboration with CARE Kabul and the Project Manager, provides technical support and mentorship through regular MCHCs visits, develops action plans, monitors project progress, and actively represents CARE in technical meetings and workshops.
Key responsibilities:
Project management and technical leadership:
Coordination and Planning
● Maintain close and regular coordination with MCHCs in-charges, field staff, local community elders, and stakeholders.
● Develop and monitor action plans for project activities in alignment with the project work plan.
● Ensure provincial-level coordination with key stakeholders, including the UNFPA regional office, government authorities, peer NGOs, and community-based entities (e.g., Shuras).
Technical Support and Mentorship
● Facilitate technical support and mentorship activities among MCHCs in the province to ensure a productive working environment.
● Oversee the execution of administrative tasks and ensure timely reporting.
Awareness and Community Engagement
● Support MCHCs colleagues (e.g., community mobilizers, youth educators, psychosocial counselors) in organizing and facilitating public awareness sessions.
● Foster strong relationships with target groups, households, and communities to ensure a safe and secure working environment.
● Organize project orientation sessions for stakeholders, sharing project objectives and essential information with communities and decision-makers.
Supervision and Monitoring
● Conduct regular supportive supervision and monitoring visits to MCHCs and community-level activities.
● Organize feedback sessions based on monitoring findings to improve project implementation.
● Ensure active community participation by promoting feedback, raising awareness, and engaging in resource mobilization and monitoring.
Staff Development and Capacity Building
● Conduct performance reviews of MCHCs staff, recommend necessary support, and participate in capacity-building initiatives.
● Collaborate with CARE’s technical focal points and project management team to organize training and development events.
Resource Mobilization and Sustainability
● Work with local communities and beneficiaries to mobilize resources, ensure the proper use of project inputs/assets, and foster a sense of ownership for sustainability.
Reporting and Documentation
● Track project progress against expected outputs, performance indicators, and objectives.
● Prepare regular updates and share information with the M&R Officer, Provincial Manager Deputy project manager and Project Manager as needed.
Other Duties
● Perform other tasks assigned to ensure the successful implementation of project activities.
