About AYSO:

Afghan Youth Services Organization (AYSO) is a National Afghan NGO registered in 2006 with the MoEc of Afghanistan with registration No:397.AYSO since came into being has developed, successfully implemented, and provided direct assistance services in different   sectors such as health, educational, Food Security,  Capacity building, GBV Prevention and Response, Peace, Justice Research, and Surveys human rights and awareness projects and programs with the technical and financial support of several UN Agencies such as UNDP,UNFPA, UNICEF, WFP, and WHO, AYSO has implemented projects with government ministries and departments as well as has been being implementing partner with AAH/USAID, FHI, BARC, AADA,HEWAD, and other National and International Organization.

Job Descriptions:

Scope of Work:

The MYC coordinator is responsible for the overall management and coordination of the MYC space, staff, students and classes. He works to build and maintain strong local networks committed to improving the lives of young people, promote volunteerism, support their wellbeing, help to identify and enroll vulnerable young people to gain key knowledge and skills to support their future livelihoods. He supervises and supports MYC staff particularly educators and counsellors, the students, and their classes. He also ensures the timely, fully and smooth implementation of the given educational plan, curriculum and timetable of the MYC.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the overall management and operations of the MYC.
  2. Coordinate and supervise daily activities at the MYC, ensuring that programs meet goals, objectives and schedule
  3. In coordination and consultation with Youth Manager and educators / counsellors develop Monthly Activity Calendar and Timetable for MYC
  4. Plan and coordinate mobilization and reach out efforts and campaigns for the promotion of MYC in community and identification, attraction, registration and enrollment of desired, needy and vulnerable adolescents and youth to different programs, classes and events of MYC
  5. Contribute to MYC and project planning, evaluation, and data collection.
  6. Identifying MYC staff capacity needs and implementing relevant training
  7. Support an open, safe and adolescent and youth-friendly environment 
  8. Conduct staff meetings and provide guidance to staff members
  9. Coordinate and cooperate with Admin & Finance for HR, Administrative and Financial matters of MYC
  10. Develop and maintain relationships with young people, their families, line governmental & nongovernmental departments, and community stakeholders.
  11.  Create a safe space for young people to explore their values and identities.
  12.  Participate in project staff meetings and ensure effective communication.
  13.  Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports and submit them to the Youth Manager.
  14. Perform any other tasks assigned by the Youth Manager within the general scope of the described responsibilities or of the project.

Job Requirements:

Qualification & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Management, Education, Social Work, or any equivalent degree in a related field. Minimum of 4 years’ experience working with adolescents and youths. Capacity to work with young people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Capacity to work efficiently within a multidisciplinary team. Strong ability to work independently. Strong communication skills in English and local languages are highly desired. Strong computer and internet skills. Having strong interpersonal, administration and management skills. Respect of confidentiality and sense of security.
