We seek a motivated and experienced Site Engineer (Water Supply Infrastructure) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will oversee and manage the implementation of water supply infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to technical standards, project timelines, and budgets.

Your responsibilities will include the design, supervision, and quality assurance of water supply systems, coordinating with stakeholders to achieve project objectives, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards. The role demands fieldwork, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in challenging conditions.

Objectives of This Role

• Plan, execute, and monitor the construction and rehabilitation of water supply infrastructure.
• Ensure the design and implementation of water systems comply with technical standards, quality requirements, and local regulations.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including contractors, government bodies, and community representatives.
• Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring project success within scope, time, and budget constraints.
• Conduct thorough site inspections to assess progress and resolve on-site challenges promptly. 

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the day-to-day construction activities at the project site, ensuring compliance with approved designs, technical specifications, and project timelines.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, assess the quality of work, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel to ensure the timely delivery of materials and resources required for construction.
• Perform on-site troubleshooting and provide technical solutions to address construction challenges or design adjustments.
• Oversee the installation of water supply systems, including pipelines, reservoirs, pumping stations, and other related infrastructure.
• Verify that all site activities are carried out in compliance with environmental and safety regulations, ensuring minimal impact on the surrounding community.
• Collaborate with local authorities and community stakeholders to address concerns and ensure alignment with project goals.
• Document all site activities, including daily progress reports, material usage, and any incidents or deviations from the project plan.
• Facilitate regular on-site meetings with contractors and team members to review project status and resolve issues.
• Conduct final inspections upon project completion to ensure compliance with technical standards and prepare handover documentation.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in water supply infrastructure design and construction.
• Fluent in English, Pashto, and Dari Language, both written and verbal.
• Strong knowledge of water supply systems, including pipeline design, reservoirs, and pumping stations.
• Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, EPANET, or similar tools.
• Excellent understanding of construction methodologies, material specifications, and safety standards.
• Experience in managing multi-stakeholder projects in developing or post-conflict environments is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work under pressure.

Preferred skills and qualifications

• Professional certifications in Water Supply Infrastructure or related fields.
• Experience in working with international donors or multilateral agencies.
• Proficiency in Water Supply Infrastructure tools and software.
• Knowledge of environmental and social impact assessments related to water projects.
