Alongside the Ministry of Public Health, AFGA has been working in the field of Reproductive Health since its inception. A committed team of more than 600 experts are working in 11 provinces of Afghanistan to achieve AFGA goals and objectives. AFGA provides health services to the most vulnerable and hard to reach communities through over 140 service delivery points.  

About Hospital:

AFGA is in the process of establishment of a 20-bed hospital in Kabul, aimed at providing quality Reproductive Health services to mothers and newborns. The hospital will be fully equipped with modern medical equipment, facilities and staffed by experts.

As part of a long-term development plan, hospital services will continuously expand, serving as the central hub for AFGA outreach and small Service Delivery Points (SDPs) to refer patients needing advanced care. The hospital will adhere to national and international standards for patient safety and quality service, ensuring it meets the needs of target communities

Job Descriptions:

Summary of the job:

She should be responsible for keeping, administrating, recording data of the vaccines.

 Responsibilities

  • Administer or injection various vaccines to patients, including routine childhood immunizations, COVID-19 vaccines, and other recommended vaccinations.
  • Responsible for educating patients on the importance of vaccination, the specific vaccine being administered, potential side effects, and proper post-vaccination care.
  • Responsible for storing, handling and maintaining vaccines and other vaccine equipment according to the guidelines
  • Maintaining the cold chain of vaccines and arranging the work plan for the fixed vaccine center and outreach according to the guidelines.
  • Responsible for accurately documenting vaccine administration, including the type of vaccine, dose, route of administration, and any adverse reactions.
  • Adherence to the vaccination sessions according to the prepared time division
  • Preparation and presentation of health education sessions to the clients about the immunity program, diarrhea, respiratory diseases and nutrition.
  • Responsible to screen patients to verify their eligibility for specific vaccines, based on age, medical history, and other factors.
  • Collecting and consolidating the report of the vaccine team's activities and sending it monthly to the head of the relevant hospital.
  • Active participation in national vaccination days.
  • Preparation and arrangement of operational plan and trainings for national vaccine days for volunteers
  • Preparation of the vaccine team inventory list annually.
  • Participating and facilitating community health workers' vaccine meetings
  • Preparing a request list for vaccines and other vaccine systems and sending it to the relevant hospital superintendent.
  • Responsible to follow strict infection control protocols, such as proper hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe needle handling and disposal.
  • Observing and applying the introduced standards, especially infection prevention.
  • Responsible to stay up-to-date on the latest vaccine recommendations, safety guidelines, and best practices through ongoing training.

Job Requirements:

  • Should be graduated from class 12 or equivalent.
  • Completion of immunization training program
  • 1-3 years of working experience as a vaccinator in a hospital, either in a clinical setting
  • Ability to properly prepare, store, and administer vaccinations according to guideline.
  • Should have attend vaccination course
  • Should have good communication skill
