APBHO’s most peacebuilding efforts focus on high-level negotiations; the peace curriculum of the Afghan Peace Builders Humanitarian Organization focuses on the grassroots of Afghan society. Job Descriptions:

Background;

The livelihood Field Monitor contributes to implementing, running, and monitoring the Livelihood program (s) in cooperation with the Project team. Based on the skills required for this position, he has the capacity to oversee programs with a degree of autonomy (e.g. delegations with remote management) and contributes actively to planning and coordinating livelihood activities at the field level.

The duties and responsibilities of a Livelihood field Monitor

  • Conduct the implementation and monitoring of all activities, at the field level, as laid out in the plan of action.
  • Organize and support the running of livelihood activities in the region.
  • Manage the effective and proper use of assets, financial resources, and facilities according to standard procedures in order to comply with auditing requirements.
  • Support beneficiary identification and selection processes together with regional Livelihoods Teams.
  • Active participation in field assessments (logistic organization, identification of needs, monitoring)
  • Assist in the registration of target families at the field level working closely with project Livelihoods Teams to ensure data is collected and recorded within the livelihoods programming to be implemented
  • Make field arrangements for planned visits to project locations
  • Assist the Livelihoods Officer/Project Manager in the preparation of all documents and forms necessary for the implementation of the livelihoods project.
  • Coordinate (or assist Branch Livelihoods Teams in coordinating) activities with local authorities, other implementing actors, and partners at the local level.
  • Maintain coordination and appropriate information sharing and communication lines with stakeholders at the field level to avoid duplication and maximize synergies.
  • Regularly monitor project activities and provide timely inputs and feedback to the Livelihoods Project manager.
  • Follow up with Regional Livelihoods Teams on the complaints from the beneficiaries and communities and keep a record of them
  • Facilitation of (or assist in the facilitation of) pieces of training for Organization staff volunteers and beneficiaries when needed
  • Set up (or assist to set up) a clear beneficiary follow-up mechanism and ensure that appropriate follow-ups are made to support beneficiaries.

Job Requirements:

Certifications / Education required

  • Bachelor's degree in Administration, Social Sciences, or any related field.
  • Qualifications in management and monitoring are a strong asset.

Professional Experience required

  • 3 to 5 years of total work experience (including 2 years of livelihood activities monitoring) with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the humanitarian sector.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good knowledge of Midwifery activities.
  • Strong technical report writing skills. 
  • Experience in different extension approaches and methods;
  • Strong community mobilization and facilitation skills; 
  • Good communication skills.

  • Computer skills.
