Momin Afghan Microfinance Institution(MAMI) is the First  Da Afghanistan Bank licensed Microfinance Institution in Afghanistan established in 2024. Our primary objective in Afghanistan is to contribute to, community development, poverty alleviation, job creation and economic development through the provision of sustainable Islamic financial services to the poor and underserved.

Job Descriptions:

The Shariah Financing and Recovery Manager is responsible for overseeing Islamic financing operations, ensuring Shariah compliance in all financial products, and managing the recovery of overdue financing. This role requires expertise in Islamic finance principles, risk management, and debt recovery strategies tailored to Shariah-compliant financial products.

Job Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Shariah-Compliant Financing Management:

               •             Oversee the design, implementation, and management of Shariah-compliant financial products such as Murabaha, Ijara, Mudaraba, and Musharaka.

               •             Ensure all financing transactions adhere to Islamic banking principles and regulatory requirements.

               •             Work closely with the Shariah Advisory Board to review and approve financial contracts.

               •             Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with Islamic finance guidelines.

2. Loan Portfolio & Risk Management:

               •             Monitor the institution’s Islamic loan portfolio to minimize non-performing loans (NPLs).

               •             Assess clients’ creditworthiness before approving financing.

               •             Implement risk mitigation strategies while ensuring compliance with Islamic finance ethics.

               •             Prepare regular reports on financing performance and portfolio health.

3. Recovery & Debt Management (Shariah-Compliant Approach):

               •             Develop and implement ethical and Shariah-compliant debt recovery strategies.

               •             Engage with clients to negotiate restructuring options in line with Islamic financial principles.

               •             Conduct field visits and follow-ups on overdue payments while maintaining customer relationships.

               •             Coordinate with legal teams for recovery actions, ensuring compliance with Islamic law.

4. Customer Relationship & Financial Literacy:

               •             Educate clients about Islamic finance principles and their financial responsibilities.

               •             Conduct workshops on Shariah-compliant borrowing and repayment practices.

               •             Address customer inquiries and concerns regarding Islamic financial products.

5. Compliance & Reporting:

               •             Ensure full compliance with Shariah laws, central bank regulations, and internal policies.

               •             Maintain updated records of all financing transactions and recoveries.

               •             Report to senior management on financing activities and propose improvements.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

               •             Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Islamic Finance, Shariah Law, Business Administration, or a related field.

               •             Certification in Islamic Banking & Finance (AAOIFI, CIBAFI, or equivalent) is preferred.

               •             Minimum [X] years of experience in Islamic finance, loan recovery, or banking.

               •             Strong knowledge of Shariah-compliant financial instruments and risk management.

               •             Experience in microfinance or Islamic banking sector is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies:

               •             Strong understanding of Shariah law and Islamic financial principles.

               •             Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.

               •             Strong risk assessment and credit analysis abilities.

               •             High ethical standards and customer service orientation.

               •             Proficiency in financial reporting tools and Microsoft Office.

               •             Ability to handle sensitive financial matters with professionalism.

Work Conditions:

               •             Office-based with frequent field visits for client engagement and recovery follow-ups.

               •             Requires coordination with the Shariah Advisory Board and legal teams.
