Green Afghanistan Agriculture and Livestock Organization (GAALO) is a non-government, non-political and not for profit organization, registered with ministry of economy in 2009.

Since the inception, GAALO has gone to both rural and urban communities and implemented 65 plus programs and projects and has been engaged in large-scale project executions in thematic area of Agriculture, Livestock, Environment Protection, Research, Survey, Capacity Building and Development.

Responsibilities

The incumbent shall perform under the direct supervision of finance manager and work in close collaboration with finance department. Her specific responsibilities are as below:

Finance

1. Manage day-to-day accounting functions including regular cash verification, bank account and balance sheet reconciliations, monthly closing, timely submission of financial reports to Line Manager etc.
2. Recording the day-to-day transactions in QuickBooks
3. Assist in the preparation of budgets for all proposals and develop clear and concise narratives.
4. Liaise with donors on finance and budget issues as required.
5. Ensure that expenses are incurred/charged to different donors/grants according to the approved budget(s) and compliance requirements are met as per grants agreement and guidelines.
6.  Completes monthly balance sheet, budget-monitoring reports as per project requirements.
7. Make sure that the allotment is received for all staff in order to process the payrolls.
8. Providing all type up online reports to ministry of MoEc.
9. Providing annual income tax return AZHARNAMA, Tax Exemption Letter & TAIS
10. Processing tax clearance of GAALO with line ministry
11. Follow up for Staff TIN and their salary taxes.
12. Maintain payroll, pay slips records.
13. Control internal and external audit reports
14. Maintain proper filing for all projects.
15. Maintain online reporting for donors/clients.

Required Qualifications

• Strong knowledge in accounting software (QuickBooks) and Excel.

 Abilities and Skills

• Written and oral communication skills.
• Openness in sharing information and keeping people informed.
• Build relationships with donors/clients and other external actors.
• Promote teamwork and in-depth understanding of donor requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English and Pashto/Dari.
• Proven working experience in project financial management
• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
