About ASTO:

The Afghanistan Skateboarding Training Organization (Skateistan Afghanistan) is a registered with the Ministry of Economy working in Afghanistan from fifteen years, it has been providing educational and sports programs for children and teenagers aged five to seventeen, including children working on the road, children Destitute, Internally Displaced and Unsupervised Children has been active in Kabul and Mazar-e-Sharif and has started to operate in Bamyan province since four years. Bam-Donya non-profit school is a part of its 2025 projects

Job Descriptions:

Job Summary

The Educator position will focus on leading classrooms to guide the students and help them understand academic information. They prepare lesson plans, create worksheets, give lectures, and guide students through interactive lessons, using different teaching styles to reinforce essential information. The Educator will report directly to the Headmaster at the Non-Profit School and work closely with the Headmaster and Principal to ensure that the activity plan is maintained and all programs progress towards their goals and outcomes.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Teach the curriculum of the Ministry of Education to students of Grades 1 to 6, using interactive and creative methods.
  • Collaborate with other educators, the headmaster, principal, and relevant Programs Manager to plan and implement the educational program.
  • Organize and facilitate educational and recreational activities through sports, games, arts, events, and life skills.
  • Assess and monitor students’ progress and provide feedback and support on grade homework, assignments, and tests.
  • Maintain a safe and positive learning environment for students.
  • Prepare the examination papers and result sheets of the students and other related documentation.
  • Ensure your classroom is clean and orderly.
  • Contribute to the monitoring, evaluation, and learning of the program and report on the outcomes and challenges.
  • Attend parent-teacher meetings.
  • Prepare the relevant reports and submit them to the headmaster and principal.
  • Participate in staff training and capacity-building sessions.
  • Attend relevant school committees and perform the relevant assigned tasks. 
  • Responsible for any other reasonable tasks presented by management.

Performance Indicators:

  • Number of students enrolled, retained, and graduated from the program.
  • Average attendance rate and satisfaction rate of students.
  • Average test scores and learning outcomes of students in language, math, social and Islamic subjects, and pedagogy.
  • The number of educational and recreational activities organized and facilitated through games, arts, and life skills.
  • Quality and timeliness of feedback and support provided to students.
  • Level of collaboration and communication with other Educators, the headmaster, principal, and the relevant Programs Manager.
  • Participation and improvement in staff training and capacity-building sessions.
  • Positive performance reviews from the students and parents.

Job Requirements:

Minimum professional and academic qualifications.

Bachelor’s degree in education or a relevant field.

Minimum years of experience

A minimum of three years of experience in teaching or facilitating educational activities for children and youth: At least two years should be at a public or private school.

Competencies and Knowledge 

  • In-depth knowledge of teaching methods and legal educational procedures.
  • Familiarity with the curriculum of the Ministry of Education in Afghanistan.
  • Fluency in local languages (Dari and Pashto) and medium English skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, especially Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of child rights, child protection, and social inclusion.
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, and flexibility.
  • Commitment to School’s mission and values.
