About Humanitarian Organization for Sustainable Actions in Afghanistan (HOSAA):
Humanitarian Organization for Sustainable Action in Afghanistan (HOSAA) is a national non-profit, non-governmental, non-political, and humanitarian organization established and registered with No. 4673, 2019 at the Department of NGOs in the Ministry of Economy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Although the organization is professionally managed by a group of committed young professional Afghans with years of experience in governmental and non-governmental organizations in and outside of Afghanistan.
Besides, HOSAA has cluster membership and plays a role as an active partner with FSAC (The Food Security and Agriculture Cluster) in Afghanistan was established in 2008, is co-led by WFP and FAO with Welthungerhilfe as an NGO in a co-chair role. The FSAC has had a dedicated Cluster Coordinator since October 2010. In 2011, the FSAC underwent a review process, which resulted in a TOR being developed, which identified the FSAC's main aim to provide an action-oriented forum for bringing together national and international humanitarian partners to improve the timeliness and effectiveness of humanitarian assistance on the lives of crisis-affected populations in Afghanistan. The FSAC is also operational at a sub-national level in two regions of Afghanistan, with additional sub-national structures currently being established. Over 174 partner organizations country-wide are active in the FSAC, including 63 international NGOs, 79 national NGOs, 3 Red Cross/Crescent-related organizations, 6 state-level line ministries, 14 UN agencies, 2 research institutes, 4 donors, and 3 embassies. On the other hand, HOSAA has UNICEF nutrition cluster membership, and HOSAA is working impartially and has a close relationship with all cluster members of the Nutrition Cluster, and closely participates in all meetings. The nutrition cluster is accountable to the Humanitarian Country Team and Humanitarian Coordinators through the lead agencies (Save the Children and UNICEF).
Additionally, HOSAA got Gender in Humanitarian Action Working Group (GiHAWG) membership in 2020, as the main role of this network is the contribution is aiming to protect and promote afghan women and girl’s human rights through access to essential services, humanitarian assistance livelihoods and income opportunities, improved voice and agency and support from a resilient Afghan women’s movement.
The primary focus of HOSAA is on the grassroots level, on the problems of the poor, considering the primary areas of concern: GBV (Gender Based Violence), education, health, food security, and livelihood
