Job Descriptions:

PARSA’s Business and Income Generation Specialist is a full-time position responsible for developing income generation models with program participants of varying skills, capacity and formal education. The position demands professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to manage various tasks and deadlines.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each job duty satisfactorily. Essential job duties include but are not limited the following:

  • Identifying income generation, micro/small business, vocational training, and skill development opportunities.
  • Finding and securing high quality vocational and skill development training opportunities.
  • Researching, contacting, scheduling, and coordinating with vetted private sector organizations and training providers to conduct -training and/or industry orientations.
  • Researching to determine high demand skills, gaps in service, or product offerings in the local, provincial, and national markets.
  • Conducting skill and experience assessments to inform an individualized plan for income generation.
  • Review relevant websites (ACBAR, JOBS.AF, individual Ministry websites, on a regular scheduled basis daily and weekly for requests for proposals (RFP) and requests for quote (RFQ) that may be an opportunity for Trade Afghan to facilitate.
    • Post opportunities daily on the dedicated team's chat
    • Follow up as needed with appropriate
  • Facilitating networking activities for program participants.
  • Assisting in conducting the Ready4Business curriculum.
  • Assisting program participants in the following:
  • Developing income generation ideas and strategies based on their skills.
  • Conducting market research.
  • Completing simple business plans and budgets, researching, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring all B4B Int. training activities.
  • Acting as the point of contact for all B4BI trainers onsite and Offsite.
  • Tracking attendance of participants and eliciting feedback on training from participants – onsite and offsite.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and/or ATTRIBUTES/ EDUCATION, TRAINING and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with diverse teams and individuals, both within and outside the organization.
  • Professional presentation and communication skills, including email, in-person interactions, and through messaging platforms such as WhatsApp.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure, maintain focus and effectiveness in stressful situations.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, contributing to team goals and fostering positive relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to follow instructions, seek help when necessary, and address challenges effectively.
  • Proactive in taking initiative and capable of working independently with minimal supervisi
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, Management, Communications, or a related field (preferred).
  • Verifiable experience as an entrepreneur and/or in business start-ups.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying income generation opportunities in the current economic environment.
  • Experience with private sector companies and related organizations (e.g., chamber of commerce, industry-specific associations).
  • Experience in business start-ups and/or running a micro or small business.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including comprehension in Dari, Pashto, and English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Proficiency in utilizing Google Drive, Microsoft Teams, and email communication platforms.
