Johanniter International Assistance. (www.johanniter-int.org) is a German non-governmental organisation, dedicated to excellence in the field of first aid, ambulance service, social service programmes and other projects in the medical and social field. The Federal Headquarters are based in Berlin, Germany. Johanniter International Assistance is the operational unit for humanitarian aid, development co-operation and emergency relief, implementing and supporting mostly health projects worldwide.

Johanniter is working is Afghanistan since October 2002 providing emergency aid, rehabilitation of health facilities, medical care and capacity building for community health workers, students, teachers and professionals of NGOs and government agencies in disaster preparedness and first aid skills. Johanniter’s country office is located in Kabul and has operational coverage in the North, Northeastern and central region with possibility of expansion in the South and Western provinces of Afghanistan.

Job Summary & Purpose:
The Nurse is responsible for overall management of related First Aid and provides nursing caring in standalone MHNT, management and referral services to the targeted population. He/ She is responsible to provide a full package monthly report to the Supervisor.
The pharmacist is responsible for arranging, keeping and distributing of medicine and other medical equipment’s under the close supervision of Supervisor and giving a report of medicines consumption to his/her line supervisor (Medical Doctor).

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provide nursing care to patients, including taking vital signs, administering prescribed medications, and offering emotional and psychological support.
2. Assist doctors during outpatient consultations (OPD) and ensure proper documentation of patient care and observations.
3. Ensure timely data collection, organization, and accurate updating of medication plans and treatment records.
4. Maintain hygiene and safety standards, including infection prevention and control measures at all service delivery points.
5. Supervise the storage, stock management, and temperature regulation of medicines in mobile pharmacies.
6. Monitor expiry dates closely; report medicines with less than 6 months of shelf life and ensure proper disposal when needed.
7. Submit monthly and quarterly pharmacy reports and register all stock-in/out and finance-related documents accurately.
8. Support the preparation of medicine demand forecasts and participate in medicine needs assessments.
9. Coordinate with other team members and assist in general field clinic operations and health-related activities.
10. Contribute to vaccination data collection, database preparation, and carry out any additional tasks assigned by the line supervisor or Medical Doctor.

Education:

Bachelor degree in Pharmacy  and Nursing, Midwifery Diploma, or having similar qualifications.

Experience:

At least 2 to 3 years of experience in the field of health and nutrition.

Language Professions:

Proficiency in Dari or Pashto is required.
