Job Descriptions:

Scope of work:   

ASLO has an extensive and a good track record in implementation of educational support programs funded by donors in Logar province. ASLO in cooperation will implement education Global Partnership for Education (GPE) in 5 locations of Logar province, namely, Kharwar, Barak-i-Barak, Khosho, Pule Alam, and Mohammad Agha districts of Logar province. This position is responsible for mobilization activities in Community Based Education (CBE) in Logar districts.

Under the overall supervision of the Provincial Education Manager and Education Officer, He/she shall coordinate and supervise the community mobilization process to enable the communities to discuss, prioritize and prepare for effective and efficient implementation of CBEs classes. He/she will act as a facilitator on district level to obtain good working relations between DED/PED, schools management shuras, hub-schools, host communities, and between other actors involved in the local community development.

The Community Mobiliser reports to the Provincial Education Manager and Education Officer in Logar Provincial Office.

Responsibilities:

  • To facilitate to documentation and planning of all plan activities.
  • Monitoring of GPE classes and teachers' teaching process regularly and cooperate with teachers in making of local teaching materials, lesson plan, students hygiene, in management of class and school and Physical environment of school.
  • Checking of education materials which sent through the logistics unit and reporting to related unit.
  • Control of attendance of Teachers and students. Filling of the logbook of education materials, and distribution of them to students.
  • Taking part in SMS meetings and encouragement of SMS members to participate in school management, security of school, cooperation in students’ attendance, and cooperating in school building and construction.
  • To mobilize and motivate the male target communities to accept and ensure the participation of all groups in the area, including women, children, people with disabilities and other disadvantaged groups.
  • Inspire the sense of contribution, participation and self-reliance in the target communities
  • Establishes and develop good mutual understanding, cooperation and trust between ASLO  project and the target communities.
  • Establish and maintains good working relations with authorities at community level.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in education or the in related subject.
  • 2 to 4 years’ experience in the subject area or a related discipline.
  • Experience teaching adults might be advantageous.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Patience and resilience.
  • A high degree of diplomacy.
  • Great conflict resolution skills.
  • Good planning skill.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skill in Dari/Pashto.
  • Ability to frequently travel to the target communities in the districts.
  • Strong mobilization and communication skills.
