About Youth Health and Development Organization (YHDO):
YHDO is a non-governmental and non-for-profit organization established in 2009, registered with ministry of economy in Afghanistan. YHDO works with interdisciplinary professionals to develop and implement innovative, culturally appropriate, evidence based interventions

Key Responsibilities

• Provide skilled midwifery care during antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods
• Conduct safe deliveries in accordance with national clinical guidelines
• Identify and manage obstetric emergencies and refer when needed
• Offer family planning counseling and services to eligible clients
• Educate mothers on newborn care, breastfeeding, hygiene, and nutrition
• Maintain accurate records in delivery registers, ANC/PNC forms, and family planning registers
• Ensure timely reporting of reproductive health indicators to HMIS focal point
• Collaborate with other medical staff to provide integrated care
• Observe infection prevention and control (IPC) practices at all times
• Support health promotion activities within the hospital and community as needed

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Midwifery from a recognized institution
• Valid registration with the Afghanistan Nurses and Midwives Council (ANMC)
• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in maternity or reproductive health
• Knowledge of BPHS/EPHS reproductive health service packages is preferred
• Strong communication and counseling skills
• Fluency in Pashto and/or Dari; English is an asset
