About Le Pelican INGO:

Le Pelican NGO is working to give education for deaf children and youth, poor & needy children and special need children since 2005 and to help them to get education to do sport, game, break, and lunch all as free.

The vision to work for the benefit of vulnerable Afghan children and youth with excellence, honesty, transparency, fairness, discipline, warmth, respect, frugality, security, and care.

Our mission is to lift up poor Afghan children and youth in mind, body, and spirit, that they might have a better future. Our special program includes education through Sign Language by specialists. Families will be welcomed to learn Sign Language in order to give them a better communication with their deaf children.

A special Center for Down syndrome and other mentally handicapped children has been created around 3 years ago.

Job Descriptions:

JOB SUMMARY: 

A passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher with a commitment to providing quality education and creating a positive learning environment. Proven ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure the best educational outcomes. They create learning experiences and materials to deliver a set curriculum and to support student mental, physical, intellectual and social development. They often lead extracurricular activities such as coaching sports teams and game.

Objectives:

  • Take care of all the children in your care without any discrimination.
  • Endeavour to keep the group of students happy and progressing educationally, socially & emotionally.
  • Help children get self-confidence and to feel part of the project.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand the mission statement & functioning of the center.
  • Get to know the children and build a relationship based on trust and confidence.
  • Respect the schedule and activities indicated on your timetable or ask permission for change.
  • Work in close collaboration with your supervisor & project manager.
  • Look after the children cleanliness and monitor the hands washing especially after using the toilets.
  • Provide comprehensive education to the pupils and help them progress.
  • Be imaginative and creative not only to keep students' attention but also to adapt to their different ways of learning and thus obtain long-term results.
  • Observe children attentively in order to detect difficulties and try to help them. Share the problem with your supervisor.
  • Respect the confidentiality concerning children and their families.
  • Be punctual, honest, and trustworthy.

Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong writing, presentation and education development experience.
  • Must have teaching experience for grade 1 up to 4.
  • Must have the excellent teaching skills of the government school books like, (Islamic Studies, Dari, Pashto, English, Math and Science).
  • Excellent grammatical, phonetics and literature skills.
  • Listening skills and the ability to reflect on your teaching practice
  • Good communication and written skills in (Pashto, Dari, English) languages. 

    Skills Required:

  • An ability to teach concepts & then check comprehension & learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be patient, flexible, and teachable and have a firm character.
  • To be able to consistently set standards of behavior and ensure they are obeyed.
  • To be able to help the children enjoy sports & games through leadership.
  • Planning, organization and time-management skills
  • Imagination, creativity and a sense of humor.
  • The ability to use your initiative and think on your feet
  • A commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students
  • Self-discipline and self-motivation
