Sayqa Energy Supply & Construction (SESC) is an Afghan company, established in 2008 and Noor Hewad Concrete Pole Manufacturers established in 2007 in capital of Afghanistan Kabul province and providing high voltage electrification and construction projects such as Survey, Design, Supply, Installation, Testing, Commissioning Electric, construction projects and manufacturing of concrete spam poles. SESC has activities in 34 provinces of Afghanistan and implemented several projects throughout Afghanistan to our valuable customers. We cover all aspects of energy supply & construction service with a particularly strong performance. Job Descriptions:

Duties and Responsibilities of Project Scheduler

  1. Schedule Development
    • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules including milestones, deliverables, tasks, and dependencies.
    • Prepare Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and define activity sequencing.
  2. Schedule Monitoring and Updating
    • Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule.
    • Update schedules regularly to reflect actual progress and changes in scope or resources.
    • Identify and analyze schedule variances and critical path.
  3. Coordination and Communication
    • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to collect accurate schedule data and updates.
    • Facilitate schedule review meetings and incorporate feedback from project teams.
  4. Reporting and Documentation
    • Prepare and distribute regular schedule reports, including progress updates, forecasts, and risk assessments.
    • Maintain accurate records of schedule changes, delays, and corrective actions.
  5. Risk and Impact Analysis
    • Identify potential schedule risks and delays.
    • Perform schedule impact analysis due to changes in scope, resources, or unforeseen events.
    • Recommend mitigation and recovery strategies to keep the project on track.
  6. Software Utilization
    • Utilize project scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or other tools to create and manage schedules.
    • Ensure data integrity and accuracy within scheduling tools.
  7. Support Project Controls
    • Assist in integrating schedules with cost control, procurement, and resource management systems.
    • Support project change management processes from a scheduling perspective.
  8. Quality Assurance
    • Ensure that scheduling activities comply with company standards, project requirements, and contractual obligations.
    • Review subcontractor and vendor schedules to ensure alignment with the master project schedule.
  9. Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes and tools.
    • Share best practices and lessons learned with the project team.
  10. Preparing project invoices based on the progress of work.

Job Requirements:

Job Requirements for Project Scheduler

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project scheduling or planning, preferably in [industry, ex: construction, EPC Projects, Electrical Engineering, Substation and Transmission Line Projects and etc..].
  • Proven record of accomplishment of managing schedules for medium to large-scale projects.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in project scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, scheduling methodologies (e.g., CPM, critical path method), and project controls.
  • Familiarity with Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), resource leveling, and schedule risk analysis.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate effectively with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Proactive approach to identifying scheduling risks and proposing solutions.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project priorities and schedules.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in project scheduling.
  • Certification such as PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) or similar is an advantage but not mandatory.
