Justice for Equality Afghanistan Organization (JEAO) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization founded on the principle that access to affordable quality health care is a basic human right. JEAO works with interdisciplinary professionals to develop and implement innovative, culturally appropriate, evidence based public health interventions.  JEAO offers ground-breaking and unconventional solutions that foster self-reliance and promote sustainable health care that is accessible to all. JEAO is working in Afghanistan since 2007, implementing integrated health projects managed mainly by national staff supported technically and management wise by expatriate staff from head office.

Job Descriptions:

  • Engage with provincial and district-level authorities, and local De-Facto Authorities, to obtain necessary approvals and maintain support for project activities
  • Assist DCMs in resolving barriers to participation, such as convincing hesitant families to allow women to attend, or mediating when community issues (like use of space or timing of classes) arise. Leverage the authority of local leaders or the VSCs as needed to maintain smooth operations.
  • Compile comprehensive provincial reports on mobilization and class status. This includes maintaining an updated list of all classes and enrolled learners in the province, aggregated statistics (disaggregated by gender), and qualitative updates on community engagement. Submit monthly progress reports to the Project officer, highlighting achievements (e.g., enrollment numbers, success stories) and any challenges or risks at the community level.
  • Assist the project officer in overall office affairs related to project
  • Lead and support the team to develop and implement theoretical and practical task in alignment with relevant policies.
  • Lead and oversee project team to ensure quality
  • Support the staff and trainers to develop training and implementation plan in accordance to the existence curriculum.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Community Development, Sociology, Education, or related field.
  • Relevant vocational training or certification in community mobilization or development is an advantage.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in community mobilization, outreach, or project implementation at provincial or district level.
