Our mission is to provide education and social development services (including women empowerment, economic wellbeing, children, youths’ rights and peace) for under served and most marginalized, fragile and conflict affected communities through partnership, global humanitarian assistance and humanitarian development nexus.

Job Descriptions:

Enable safe, equitable and sustained access of adolescent girls to ASTA learning centers by coordinating community engagement, local permissions, transport/logistics for female staff (mahram arrangements where needed), security liaison, and community sensitization in close coordination with TSEDSO. This role helps ensure the project’s enrollment, retention, safeguarding and safe implementation objectives are met.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead community outreach and mobilization to identify, recruit and register target beneficiaries (adolescent girls) and ensure community buy-in for ASTA centers.
  • Secure and maintain relationships with community leaders, parents, local authorities (including MoE/MoEc where relevant), and other stakeholders to facilitate center establishment and ongoing operations.
  • Coordinate transport, safe movement and Mahram arrangements for female staff and participants where required; ensure movement plans follow safeguarding and security protocols.
  • Support site selection, set-up and maintenance (community-rented houses): coordinate local logistics, monitor cleanliness, accessibility, and minimum safety standards.
  • Implement community sensitization campaigns on ASTA objectives (GLTTA, English, computer, Islamic studies) and internship opportunities; drive referrals and outreach to marginalized/vulnerable groups.
  • Track center attendance, follow up on absentees, and work with MHPSS/Facilitators to address barriers to attendance (including protection, psychosocial or family issues).
  • Coordinate with Safeguarding and MHPSS focal points to ensure community members (and accompanying Mahram) receive basic orientation on safeguarding, code of conduct and child protection.
  • Support monitoring & reporting: prepare monthly outreach/access reports, field visit notes, stakeholder meeting minutes and inputs for donor reporting.
  • Assist in grievance/feedback mechanisms at community level — collect, log and escalate community feedback/complaints and support resolution.
  • Conduct door-to-door and group information sessions; prepare simple enrollment lists and community mapping.
  • Liaise with landlords and local committees on center utilities, solar package and equipment readiness.
  • Maintain daily/weekly attendance follow-up registers and reason-for-absence logs; refer complex cases to Safeguarding/MHPSS.

Facilitate parent/guardian meetings and community coordination meetings every month per center.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Community Development, Education, Humanitarian Studies or related field. (Relevant diploma + strong field experience may be accepted.)
  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in community mobilization, beneficiary-facing roles, access/field coordination in humanitarian or development programs (education preferred).
  • Experience working with women/girls’ programming and navigating cultural access constraints is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills; culturally sensitive and able to engage elders, community leaders and families.
  • Strong organization, documentation and basic data-collection skills (attendance registers, simple reporting).
  • Good spoken and written Dari and/or Pashto; working knowledge of English is an advantage.
  • Ability to travel frequently and work flexible hours.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding, child protection principles and basic MHPSS awareness.
