Job Descriptions:

Delivering structured lessons to Girls Learn to Teach Afghanistan (GLTTA) participants in alignment with the project’s manual and curriculum.

Building the capacity of girls to teach others (peer-teaching approach), strengthening both their subject knowledge and teaching methodology.

Supporting learners’ personal growth through mentoring, psychosocial support, and safeguarding practices.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching & Facilitation

  • Deliver lessons of GLTTA modules following the approved curriculum/manual.
  • Use interactive, learner-centered teaching methodologies to build both content mastery and teaching skills in participants.
  • Organize group work, peer-to-peer teaching and coaching sessions, and micro-teaching practice opportunities.

Capacity Building & Mentoring

  • Mentor and coach participants on teaching methods, classroom management, and facilitation skills.
  • Provide constructive feedback during practice teaching sessions.
  • Support participants’ confidence building, resilience, and problem-solving skills.
  • Assessment & Monitoring
  • Conduct pre-tests, midline evaluations, and end line assessments in collaboration with the M&E team.
  • Track learner attendance, performance, and progress; submit regular reports.
  • Identify learning challenges and provide targeted remedial support.
  • Community Engagement & Safeguarding
  • Sensitize parents/guardians and community members on the value of girls’ education and the GLTTA model.
  • Ensure strict adherence to child safeguarding, gender, and protection standards in all activities.
  • Refer learners to MHPSS or safeguarding focal points when needed.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Work closely with community mobilizer, master trainer, Access Officers, and Job Placement Officers for smooth program delivery.
  • Participate in orientation sessions, refresher trainings, and regular coordination meetings.

Submit weekly lesson plans, attendance sheets, and monthly progress reports.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, or related field. (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum 4-5 years’ teaching/training experience, preferably with youth in humanitarian/development contexts.
  • Experience in learner-centered and participatory teaching methods.
  • Strong facilitation and mentoring skills.
  • Good knowledge of safeguarding, gender, and child protection principles.
  • Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto; working knowledge of English required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to different learner needs.
  • Commitment to empowering girls and promoting inclusive education.
  • Strong organizational and reporting skills.

Cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively in conservative contexts.
