Job Descriptions:

Job Summary

Under the supervisor of Project Manager, and in close collaboration with the DRR Specialist, the Protection Mainstreaming referent will be responsible for building the capacity of the CESVI team in protection mainstreaming as well as the capacity of the local communities on protection principles. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

 

  • Contribute to the revision of the protection strategy of the mission and provide technical support and assistance to its implementation
  • Support to contextualize and adapt internal and global guidelines to the local context and guarantee that these are rolled out and known by staff
  • Ensure protection knowledge building and management across the different implementation sites
  • Revise and develop CESVI referral system: mapping of available public and private service providers, NGO, INGO, governmental departments and others.
  • Deliver training and workshops to project staff to build skills and knowledge of protection principles and enable staff to maintain mainstream protection in different sectors
  • Assesses protection needs and gaps of target populations in the areas of implementation, identifying opportunities for new protection interventions
  • Develop and deliver protection training that integrates protection principles into DRR interventions and other sectors of implementation.
  • Providing support in DRR and resilience-building initiatives in CESVI projects
  • Provide technical protection support in developing concept notes and project proposals.
  • Any other task assigned by line manager.

 

Job Requirements:

Knowledge and SKILLS :

 

  • BA in relevant fields (Social Science, Psychology, Social Work, Human Rights, International Humanitarian Law or other fields related to social development and humanitarian work)
  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience in protection-related sectors, preferably within an INGO

 

 

  • Experience in research, analysis, and report writing
  • Basic knowledge of DRR, development and/or emergency programming is an asset
  • Demonstrated experience in working in complex working environments
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages (MS Word, Excel, Access etc.) and experience in handling web-based applications
  • Proficient in English
