Terre des hommes Lausanne (Tdh) is a Swiss child welfare foundation that assists and protects vulnerable populations worldwide. Tdh has been working in Afghanistan since 1995 and carries out projects related to Child Protection, Access to Justice, Mother and Child Health, and Livelihood Programs in Kabul & Nangarhar provinces.
Job Summary:
To prepare meals for health facility staff according to the agreed menu or plan, ensuring compliance with universal hygiene standards, and to maintain cleanliness and tidiness in all designated areas, including the delivery room, MCH OPD room, general OPD room, vaccination room, MHPSS room, nutrition department room, and the facility yard. The female cleaner also provides general cleaning support to the health facility to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for staff and patients.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Cooking;
· Prepare different Afghan food according to the menu for all Health facility staff.
· To keep the common kitchen clean and tidy
· Prepare regular tea and make sure the thermoses are full of hot water with clean glass
· Make sure that all the kitchen tools are clean and in a proper place.
· Keeping the kitchen clean every day
· Maintain a proper temperature for food in the Kitchen.
· Wash the dishes, clean the cooker, and any other kitchen equipment
· Make sure clean dishes are available at all times
· Responsible for all kitchen stuff being spoiled and disappearing
· To remain responsible for all Kitchen material/equipment of TDH
· Ventilate the kitchen, sweep and mop the floors, and make sure the hygiene agent is fully followed
· Empty the waste bins daily and wash them if necessary
· Go grocery shopping daily and make sure to bring back the receipts for all purchase items and stuff.
· Perform any other task assigned by the immediate supervisor or line manager
Cleaning;
· Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors.
· Dust furniture and vacuum carpets, rugs, curtains, and upholstered furniture.
· Disinfect dressing and delivery rooms and other health facility-related areas.
· Wash windows, walls, and ceilings.
· Clean, disinfect, and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances.
· Clean and disinfect different sections at the health facilities.
· Washing dishes and Ironing.
· Visually identify the type of surface, type, and degree of contamination.
· Use different types of tools and equipment for cleaning and disinfecting.
· Make beds, change sheets, and distribute clean towels and toiletries.
· Attend to female clients' requests for extra supplies.
· Stock linen closets and other supply areas.
· Pick up debris and empty trash containers.
· Report and store lost and found items.
· May provide basic information on facilities for the clients.
· The female cleaner will work based on the guidance of the supervisor and management staff.
· She must be present at work on time.
· She is required to be polite to beneficiaries and staff.
· She is required to complete her work shifts based on the set schedule.
· She should make sure that the bed sheets, towels, etc., are clean in the delivery room.
· She should make sure that soap and other cleaning materials are available.
· She may assist in preparing meals, cleaning furniture, and cleaning tasks as needed at the health facility.
· Replace plastic waste bags efficiently and safely.
· Things to avoid: No CD or video playing during the official time.
· No loud or rude noise in the area
· Do not invite friends/ relatives to the work area, especially out of office hours, while on duty.
· Ability to cope with stressful situations and work with limited resources.
· Any additional official tasks which supervisors may assign.

· Immediately report if you may have observed the staff breaching the CPP.
· In case an external visitor would like to see the project beneficiaries, make sure she/he obtain prior permission from the Area manager and sign the CPP leaflet for external visitors.
· Commit to inform supervisors and to deal with any cases, allegations, or possibility of transgression, even potential, of the Child Protection Policy.
