WDIO is nationally based in Kabul and maintains field operations through five regional offices, with over ninety-seven staff members, located in Kabul, Bamiyan & Logar (Center-Region), Ghor & Herat (West-Region), Nangarhar, Laghman & Kunar (East-region), Takhar & Badakhshan (North-Region), and Kandahar (South-Region).

WDIO is committed to applying a ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards acts of sexual exploitation and abuse by its personnel. In 2003, the United Nations Secretary-General issued a Bulletin on “Special measures for protection from sexual exploitation and sexual abuse” (ST/SGB/2003/13) (“the Bulletin”). To support the system-wide implementation of the zero-tolerance policy, the Director-General has decided to adopt the standards of conduct and provisions on PSEA set by the Bulletin, adjusted as necessary, to be applied by WDIO personnel, as follows.

Job Descriptions:

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • To read and understand all WDIO policies and procedures.
  • Follow up and implementation of all WDIO operation policies during daily activities.
  • To consider FIFO and FEFO during storage of goods.
  • Make sure that received commodities are stocked on plates or on the shelves.
  • Arrange the stock as per the standards of stock management.
  • Store each item according to its characteristics, family, weight, and type.
  • To make sure that enough storage space is available for the received goods in the project office.
  • Develop monthly stock reports based on the incoming and outgoing documents of stock and submit them to the department head.
  • Make sure all goods are received against the goods received note.
  • Make sure all goods are distributed in stock release order, and the receiver's signature is received on the required documents.
  • Make sure an updated stock card is maintained for every item.
  • Conduct physical inventory of stocked items weekly.
  • Update the stock database regularly and generate stock reports on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Make sure prior approval of the logistics Manager is received for the release of goods from storage.
  • The items that are piled in the compound temporarily should be properly arranged and kept from direct sunlight, dust, and rain.
  • Make sure the stock is clean, tidy and secure.
  • Any other activities assigned by his/her line supervisor

  • Bachelor’s degree in BBA, Economics, Accounting, Stock Management, or any other relevant field.
  • Having at least 2 years’ experience in the field.
  • Required Languages – Excellent Pashto and Dari reading, writing, and verbal skills, Fluent in English, reading, writing, and verbal skills.  
  • Fluent in English, Pashto, and Dari with excellent speaking and writing skills,
  • Proficient computing skills – word processing, spreadsheet design, and presentations.
  • Capacity to perform effectively under pressure and harsh conditions; ability to handle confidential and politically sensitive issues responsibly and maturely,
  • Ability to travel throughout the country,
  • Respect the confidentiality of the organization,
  • Ability to use information technology effectively.
