Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is an international, non-profitable, non-governmental humanitarian relief organization with its head quarter in Birmingham, UK. It enjoys consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and is a signatory to the Code of Conduct for International Red Cross and red Crescent Moments and NGOs in Disaster Relief. Islamic Relief has been working in Afghanistan for more than 23 years, providing emergency relief and implementing life-changing development projects for some of the most vulnerable people in the country. Islamic Relief set up our first Afghanistan office in 1999. Since then, IRA continued providing assistances in emergency relief, food security, livelihood, education, health, nutrition, shelter, orphan sponsorship, Ramadan and Qurbani programmes.

Under the Direct Supervision of Medical Doctor the Incumbent will perform the following Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties & Responsibilities

• To understand and try to achieve the monthly and yearly coverage and EPI indicators
• To have an update list of the EPI and MCH dropouts to follow them in outreach sessions
• To store, handle and maintain vaccines per Afghan N-EPI/UNICEF/WHO protocols
• To dispose of contaminated waste in a responsible manner to prevent exposure
• To provide fixed and outreach EPI activities
• To maintain a high level of cold chain management all the time
• To respond immediately to any cold chain irregularity using local possibility including sending Vaccines to other closest health facility with cold chain system 
• To report immediately any irregularity of cold chain to supervisor.
• To provide appropriate patient education to prevent dropout and increase coverage
• To provide health education for her/his client to fix center and outreach sessions
• To identify and report problems that interfere in the delivery of services
• To provide complete accurate clear and on time monthly activity report.

Education:

• Diploma in Nursing or Midwife from a recognized Institute.

Experience:

• Minimum 2-3 years’ work experience, particularly in vaccination
• Strong Command on Pashto/Dari
• Working experience in the targeted provinces and familiar with concerned community, geography and culture.
