About Kabul Royals Logistics & Services Company:

Kabul Royals Logistics & Services Company is a Long-Term Agreement (LTA) holder with the United Nations and provides a wide range of logistics, operational, and implementation services under various UN contracts. The company has extensive experience in managing and supporting field-based projects, including recruitment, training, and supervision of field staff, as well as handling logistics, procurement, and reporting in alignment with UN standards and procedures.

Background

UNICEF is implementing an integrated Child Nutrition and Polio Development program in the urban and semi-urban areas of Nangarhar, Laghman, and Kunar provinces. A key component of this initiative is the deployment of 60 Community Health Workers (CHWs) and a support team of 9 Nutrition/Polio Promoters led by 1 Provincial Supervisor. These promoters will be responsible for community mobilization, active screening, and awareness sessions to enhance the coverage of community-based nutrition interventions (CBNI) and polio eradication activities in high-risk, previously under-served areas.

Job Descriptions:

Overall Objective

To improve the detection and management of Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) and Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM), increase community awareness on nutrition and polio, and strengthen the link between the community and health services.

Specific Objectives

  • To conduct community engagement and awareness sessions on nutrition and polio.
  • To support and actively participate in massive MUAC (Mid-Upper Arm Circumference) screening campaigns.
  • To ensure the smooth implementation of CBNI projects in newly established volunteer sites.
  • To provide supportive supervision, mentorship, and logistical coordination for the deployed Community Health Workers.
  • To facilitate the timely and accurate collection and reporting of project data.

Scope of Work & Key Responsibilities (For Promoters):

  • Community Mobilization: Conduct regular community awareness sessions on key nutrition practices (infant and young child feeding, MUAC screening importance) and polio prevention (vaccination importance, hygiene).
  • Field Support for Campaigns: Actively support and participate in the two rounds of massive MUAC screening campaigns across the Eastern Region provinces.
  • Support to CHWs: Work collaboratively with the 60 deployed Community Health Workers, providing on-the-job support and ensuring they have the necessary tools and knowledge.
  • Screening & Referral: Identify children with SAM/MAM through screening and ensure their timely referral to treatment programs.
  • Data Collection: Distribute and collect HMIS tools, maintain accurate attendance sheets for activities, and prepare preliminary reports on activities conducted.
  • Feedback Mechanism: Listen to and document feedback from community participants and CHWs on project activities and report to the supervisor.

Job Requirements:

Deliverables (Polio/Nutrition Promoters):

  • Daily/Monthly timesheets.
  • Brief activity reports after each community session or campaign event.
  • Completed attendance sheets for all sessions conducted.
  • Compiled and verified payment sheets for CHWs and other community volunteers (e.g., for DSA).

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Completion of at least a high school education. A diploma or certificate in a health-related field is a strong advantage.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in community mobilization, health promotion, or working with NGOs on health/nutrition projects.
  • Training and experience in MUAC screening and nutrition counseling is highly desirable.
  • Must be a resident of or familiar with the assigned district/province.
