About Help The Afghan Children:

Help the Afghan Children (HTAC), is a non-profit, non-governmental organization was established in 1993 in response to the horrible conditions of Afghan families she witnessed during Afghanistan’s civil war.  HTAC is registered with Afghanistan’s Ministry of Economics as a national non-governmental organization.  HTAC is also member of ACBAR coordination body in Afghanistan.

Job Descriptions:

The Incumbent oversees data collection regarding use of the Support Center (SCI) and its services, including training activities.  He/she is also responsible for monitoring and evaluation of project activities within the related location. Finally, he/she provides technical assistance to other HTAC staff regarding M&E.

  1. Works closely with HTAC’s Program/Project Manager in identifying metrics and other data that will be used in project/program implementation.
  2. Takes an active role in monitoring on-going projects and programs in the field.
  3. Effectively coordinates and participates in how baseline data and other activities are observed and monitored for future collection and reporting. 
  4. Ensures the data collection process is both valid and reliable.  Reports data collection issues and possible problems to the Program Director in a timely manner.
  5. Evaluates both active and completed project data and other information to ensure the M&E process is sound.
  6. Evaluation reports are consistently clear, thorough and demonstrate subject expertise.
  7. Demonstrates their knowledge of HTAC’s performance improvement process by consistently adhering to performance improvement steps.
  8. Involves all key parties (including selected beneficiaries) in evaluating project/program performance to date and facilitates the discussion of opportunities to improve performance.
  9. Prepares thorough, accurate M&E and performance improvement reports to all designated parties on a timely basis. 
  10. Maintains and updates relevant hard copy & e-files that are easily accessible. Actively participates in the exchange of M&E and performance-related information with key HTAC and HTAC partners.
  11. As requested, participate in project design and proposal development;
  12. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • At least B.A from a recognized university.
  • Strong English fluency in writing and speaking
  • Two years’ experience working in Finance section.
  • Proven Computer skills in Word, Excel and other MS Office software
  • Proven Administration skills
  • Ability to travel within project coverage districts & other provinces as needed
