Job Description

Position Summary

The Social Media Specialist will manage OSID’s digital communication platforms, create engaging content, and promote project activities to enhance visibility and outreach. This role requires creativity, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple platforms strategically.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement social media strategies aligned with project objectives.

  • Create engaging content (posts, videos, graphics) for OSID’s platforms.

  • Manage OSID social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, etc.).

  • Monitor online engagement, respond to inquiries, and maintain brand voice.

  • Capture success stories, beneficiary experiences, and project updates.

  • Collaborate with project teams to highlight activities and achievements.

  • Track performance metrics and prepare social media analytics reports.

  • Ensure compliance with donor communication guidelines.

Photographer

The Photographer will document project activities, capture high-quality images, and support OSID’s visibility efforts. The role includes photographing events, beneficiaries, trainings, and success stories that support reporting and communications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture high-quality photographs of project activities, events, and beneficiaries.

  • Organize and edit photos for reports, social media, and publications.

  • Coordinate with project teams to schedule coverage of field activities.

  • Maintain an organized digital archive of photos.

  • Support communication and visibility materials (flyers, brochures, reports).

  • Ensure ethical photography practices, especially when photographing women and youth.

  • Prepare photo packages for donors and partners when required.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.

  • At least 2–3 years of experience in social media management or digital marketing.

  • Strong content creation skills (design, video editing, storytelling).

  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar tools is an advantage.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English, Dari, and Pashto.

  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Media, Photography, or related field (preferred).

  • Minimum 2 years of professional photography experience.

  • Strong skills in photo editing (Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.).

  • Experience covering NGO projects or community events is an advantage.

  • Demonstrated creativity and attention to detail.

  • Ability to travel to field locations when required.

  • Good communication skills in Dari, Pashto, and basic English
