Afghan Peace Builders Humanitarian Organization APBHO has emerged as a non-governmental, non-political, not-for-profit organization in April 2019 with its long experience as a team (Youth Council) advocating for the rights of communities especially children and women affected by conflicts, and humanitarian crisis in fragile settings.

Most of APBHO’s peacebuilding efforts focus on community-based conflict resolution and environmental peace-building on grass-root level.  APBHO aims to shift repressive gender norms and equip citizens with the skills to resolve any type of differences and conflicts non-violently.

Afghan Peace Builders Humanitarian Organization (APBHO) strategically implements sustainable economic empowerment/asset creation, time-critical emergency responses with various commodities including Food and Non-Food Items, research, advocacy, and promotion of peace projects with a cross-cutting focus on youth and women.

Job Descriptions:

The Reporting Officer is responsible for leading all project reporting, documentation, and data visualization for the RFS project. The role ensures compliance with WFP reporting requirements, produces high-quality analytical and narrative reports, supports monitoring and evaluation functions, and strengthens internal and external communication through compelling storytelling, infographics, and photo documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary source of verified project data for all reports submitted to WFP and internal stakeholders.
  • Track and report against FLA-approved indicators and drafting different memo and reports to stakeholders.
  • Prepare and submit the following reports in line with the FLA and WFP formats: Monthly Progress Reports, Quarterly Progress Reports, Final Project Report, outcome study report, output tracking sheet, Ad-hoc and special reports as requested by WFP.
  • Consolidate data from FFA, FFT, and SAMS components across both provinces and cycles.
  • Ensure all reports are accurate, evidence-based, gender- and age-disaggregated, and aligned with approved indicators and targets.
  • Draft internal narrative and analytical reports for APBHO senior management and donors.
  • Work closely with field monitors, social organizers, engineers, trainers, and M&E staff to collect high-quality primary data.
  • Review, clean, validate, and analyze field data before inclusion in reports.
  • Support Post-Distribution Monitoring (PDM), assessments, and evaluations through data analysis and reporting.
  • Develop simple dashboards, tables, charts, and trend analysis to support programmatic decision-making.
  • Design and standardize reporting formats and templates, including: Field visit reports, Weekly internal updates, Monitoring checklists (in coordination with M&E), Success story and case study templates.
  • Ensure consistency of formats across provinces and project components.
  • Develop basic infographics, charts, and visual summaries to complement narrative reports.
  • Translate complex data into clear, reader-friendly visuals for donors and management.
  • Support visibility and communication requirements under WFP guidelines.
  • Identify impactful human-interest stories from the field.
  • Write high-quality success stories and case studies reflecting project outcomes, lessons learned, and beneficiary voices.
  • Apply strong storytelling techniques while maintaining accuracy, dignity, and donor compliance.
  • Establish and maintain an up-to-date digital photo journal of the project.
  • Ensure photos are: High quality and well-captioned, properly categorized by activity, location, date, and component, Compliant with WFP visibility, consent, and data protection requirements
  • Coordinate with field teams to ensure systematic photo documentation of activities, distributions, trainings, and assets.
  • Maintain close and continuous coordination with field staff in Jawzjan and Sar-e-Pul.
  • Provide on-the-job training and orientation to project staff on: Data collection tools and standards, Field reporting formats, Photo-taking techniques and visibility requirements, Documentation of field visits and monitoring missions.
  • Support harmonization between program, M&E, and reporting functions.

Deliverables:

  • Timely submission of all required WFP and internal reports
  • Clean, validated datasets supporting all reported results
  • Standardized reporting templates and tools
  • At least one success story/case study per quarter per component.
  • Updated photo journal (monthly)
  • Internal analytical briefs for senior management

Job Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics, Communications, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in reporting, M&E, or program documentation with NGOs or UN-funded projects.
  • Proven experience working with WFP or similar donor reporting frameworks is a strong advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Strong report writing and editing skills in English.
  • Solid understanding of monitoring and evaluation concepts.
  • Basic to intermediate skills in: Data analysis (Excel or similar tools), Infographic and chart design (PowerPoint, Canva, or similar)
  • Ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative data.

Communication and Coordination

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong coordination skills with field-based teams.
  • Ability to translate field realities into clear, donor-compliant narratives.

Other Competencies

  • Strong storytelling and analytical thinking skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to field locations.
